Mini-Group 2-Day Shore Excursion of St Petersburg Must-Sees and Boat Cruise
, Nov 2019
Everything about this tour was perfect. the guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English language. the van was clean and the driver was experienced. the places we visited were splendid. my personal gem was the church of the spilled blood. absolutely stunning! for lunch, we were taken to local diners to taste Russian pies, pancakes, soups, and sweets. on both days lunches cost us under 10 USD per person and were very tasty. we were everywhere right on time and even had some free time for shopping for some souvenirs for my kids. I will probably not remember any historical data that I learnt on this trip but I will definitely remember the great time we had. Thank you Polina and George (our guide and driver).
It was my first trip to Russia and it was amazing. The tour company organized the visas and the control passed faster than expected.
Our guide Maria was excellent at bringing history to life but it did not seem like a history lecture. She was sharing lots of useful details about everyday life and her opinion honestly whenever we asked her a question. Maria was very gracious and patient with us.
The driver, Nicholay, was very pleasant and knew the best parking spots to cut the walking distance.
Thanks to their great team play we got to see as much as we could in this short time and it was definitely worth taking this cruise voyage in the first place.
This tour is the must-do on your Baltic Sea cruise. Don’t doubt in booking this tour this team knows what they are doing and so far it was one of the best tours I ve ever taken . The guide was brilliant and the driver very professional it’s a pity I ve forgotten their names. Saying goodbye to these nice people I actually thought that on this tour I got even more than what I paid for or expected .
Spend your days in port exploring the highlights of St. Petersburg. Your guide meets your small group at the port each day to take you in a comfortable minibus to the sights. Visit the Hermitage, the Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood, Catherine Palace and famed Amber Room, the fountains and gardens of Peterhof Palace and more, including a cruise along the canals of the city.
Simply The Best of Saint Petersburg 2 day mini-group Shore Excursion
Spectacular Shore Excursion!
, Oct 2019
Recently visited St. Petersburg and had the most wonderful 2-days. We saw all the highlights of this amazing city. The Hermitage (minus the cloak room...that part is no fun) was amazing. Nice boat tour but you have to sit up top to really benefit from the tour. Peterhof, also amazing. The trip on the subway was a huge highlight for us we just wish we could have gone a couple more stops. Lunch on the first day was fine, nothing spectacular but a great representation of traditional Russian lunch. This one was included in our ticket price. Lunch on day 2 was a bit more of a challenge. The restaurant was not prepared for us so it took forever but that was on the restaurant, not the tour operator. The guides for the tours worked hard to get restaurant staff to fix it which slowly got better. By that time, food was cold. This lunch is on your own money which was a bummer. The tour overall was good and I would recommend it to anyone but what made it special was our guide Tatiana! She was amazingly knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, accommodating and flexible. Her calm demeanor and positive nature made for an exceptional experience. Thanks to her, our 2-days in St. Petersburg were very memorable and will remain with us forever.
First, there was a very good communication between the excursion staff and myself. They were always swift in replying to any queries. Our guide Svetlana was passionate about Saint Petersburg and she made the 2 days very enjoyable, unforgettable and memorable. She is a Mega guide! My highlight was the river cruise. Lovely views and pictures. Be prepared for large crowds in the Hermitage and Catherine's Palace.
Our guide Svetlana was excellent especially at getting us through large queues and she was very well informed on all her subjects. We saw so many wonderful places and never felt too rushed as we were in a small group of 14 people.
While your cruise ship is in St Petersburg, explore the glorious ‘Venice of the North’ on a full-day, visa-free city tour, with an expert guide. After a panoramic drive, visit the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, ride a boat along the canals and explore the Hermitage, one of the world’s premier museums, and home to paintings by Da Vinci and Rembrandt. Numbers are limited to 15 for a small-group experience.

What a Lovely Experience - A Must!
, Jan 2020
We were on a Baltic Cruise in May/June 2019. Having booked many tours with Viator I was interested in their 2 day tour of St. Petersburg. What a great experience. We were met at the pier once we cleared customs. We had 2 full days of touring. Our guide was most knowledgeable and we learned a lot, not only about St. Petersburg, but also about Russia. We also enjoyed a local meal. We were a small group in a min-van so had the opportunity to interact with fellow travellers. I would be remiss if I did not mention that we had a very professional driver who appeared to enjoy his work.
I highly recommend this tour.
Faultless tour of St Petersburg by Ludmila Tours. Met outside immigration on time with no fuss. Our guide, Eleyna (not sure about the spelling) was amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable with a great depth of local history.
The tour was exceptional value for two days and included all the sights on our list.
No waiting in line for the main attractions. A big plus.
A very good small group two day tour.
Can not recommend it highly enough.
We enjoyed 2 great days with very friendly staff, especially Tatiana! The palaces were amazing and we didn’t have to wait in huge line ups as we were with a tour. We also saved on the cost of a Russian Visa . We felt very safe at all times and would highly recommend Viator to get a great taste of Saint Petersburg! Thank-you so much!
Make the most of your time in St. Petersburg on this small-group shore excursion limited to just 15 people. Spending two days exploring offers the opportunity to not only see the city's top sights, including the Hermitage Museum, but also to go outside the city to explore the cities of Peterhof and Pushkin.
My favorite shore excursion EVER--see all the highlights of St Petersburg and learn from one of the best
, Oct 2019
Two FULL days of touring the best that St Petersburg has to offer. Purchasing this tour online, processing it, getting emails answered (no matter how stupid my question), getting through customs and finding the guide in port was ALL super easy and much faster than I anticipated. The tour guide is chock full of information about every site, all the history of each site, everything you see and the history of Russia and its culture and past. The shops have everything that you want to buy but do not assume that it is locally made. If you want to taste the vodka/coffee/tea at the shops, go their first as they put out one round and when it is gone it is gone. The staff in the shops speak perfect English and could not be nicer or more charming. The sites are amazing, truly spectacular, beauty around every turn. Listen to the guide when (s)he says to leave everything on the bus as we watched people being pickpocked. The walk around the grounds was incredible but is long and can be quite cold (you're outside for at least an hour walking around). We had a person in a wheelchair and a person with a walker and a few places were impossible for them to visit as the elevators were non existent or not working that day; just be prepared and flexible. Be prepared that it is TWO FULL DAYS of walking (including up and down lots of stairs), standing, and listening. The guide was unbelievably informative; just be prepared that there was no silence or time to just enjoy the beauty, the tour is constantly in motion with a constant lecture.. The lunches were two of the best meals that I've ever eaten served by amazing staff and in the most beautiful locations, completely diverse from each other. And my gluten free options were outstanding (you must preorder). This would not be a good tour for children or anyone who doesn't want to be in perpetual motion or learn about Russian history and art. For me, this was as close to perfection as any shore excursion I've ever done.
Excellent guide, Elena took us on a 2 day fabulous excursion that we could never have anticipated. She was very informative, kept on schedule, and provided exceptional talent in keeping everything organized and our group together without any incidents. The meals provided on both days exceeding our expectation and were very yummy. Highly recommend this tour to anyone able to do 2 days of touring which we were able to on our cruise with 3 nights in St. Petersburg on Norweigian.
Enjoy a luxurious experience of St. Petersburg during a comprehensive 2-day shore excursion in the remarkable Russian city. With an accomplished guide, discover the most sought-after sights, including the Peterhof Palace and the St. Isaac’s Cathedral, and gain valuable insight into intriguing Russian history and culture. Feast on traditional Russian food and relish the intimate ambiance of this small-group tour, limited to only 16 people.
2-Day St. Petersburg City and Local Culture Shore Excursion in a Small Group
2 Days in wonderful magic St. Petersburg
, Nov 2019
I honestly do not know how to explain how wonderful it was to do our tour with Ludmila. Over the course of planning this trip I realized Ludmila is a very genuine and honest person. The tour was really great, they even helped us plan a visit to see a folklore show the first evening of the St. Petersburg tour and transportation back to the ship. Our guide in St.Petersburg Xenia was the best of all. She went out of her way to make sure we were able to see everything on our itinerary. Even though circumstances on that particular day made other tour companies have to skip Catherine's Place, we did not have to. We also loved that we saw more than our ship tours, and with a smaller group. We did not opt for a private tour, however still felt like our group of 15 people was pretty private compared to the numbers we saw with the ship tour. When we left the ship there was a sign with our last names (along with the names of others on the tour) on it, not a sign with a tour company name that was waiting for lots of people and then were dividing them up in groups.
That was a nice personal touch.
Svetlana and Michael were the best guide and driver you could ask for. They were waiting for us as we left immigration just like we were told. There were 15 people on the comfortable minibus. WiFi and bottled water on board. We saw so much of St Petersburg in our 2 day tour and lunches were great!
Get a comprehensive overview of St. Petersburg on this 2-day shore excursion with a small group. Visit the Russian Imperial palaces, the Peterhof Fountain Park, and the famous Hermitage Museum. Take a canal cruise through the 'Venice of the North' and choose to upgrade your experience with a tour extension featuring visits to the Faberge Museum and some of the city's top nighttime attractions.
2-Day Group Shore Excursion in St Petersburg with Faberge Museum & Boat Cruise
, Dec 2019
This shore tour with City Break Tours was one of the best tours I have ever been on. The organization was on the highest level and I can’t praise enough the professional skills of the guide Olga. She was native in tour leading and a great English speaker. Olga was very well informed on each topic and gave us a great insight of Russian history. We started off with a city tour which covered a major part of the city center and gave us an opportunity to capture some amazing views. The Winter Palace was breathtaking and I properly enjoyed the visit thanks to Olga who seemed to escape many lines. The lunches were satisfying and tasty. Overall the tour was a great value for money.
Passing through the passport control I was a little anxious that it will take more time than expected as there were lines. It appeared to take only about 20 minutes so I was in the terminal earlier than the tour starting time. Our lovely guide Polina was already waiting and kindly explained we had to wait for the other group members.
The tour took off at approximately 9:10 am when everyone was ready. The group was sized 14 people. The driver, Alexey, and Polina took us to the city center. There were some excellent picture opportunities and thanks god the weather was cloudless at this time.
The first visit of the day was the Hermitage. I was totally impressed with Polina's knowledge and the skill of orientation in the hundreds of corridors, halls and rooms. During our lunch time there was an opportunity to do a little shopping. We visited the Savior on the Spilled Blood which was truly magical. The boat trip on the canal was a wonderful way to end up the first day with.
On the second day, we traveled out of the city. Both places we visited were exceptionally remarkable. I do not have enough words to describe how much I enjoyed discovering these summer parks and gardens and learning about the history and the arts from our guide Polina.
Thank you so much for organizing this outstanding tour for us. It was our favorite city to visit this summer.
We had a wonderful time in Russia thanks to City Break Tours. As an experienced traveler I'm always taking small-group tours for me and my husband. We believe touring in a small group is the best way to discover the city in an easy way. Alexandra was our guide and she took care of us during those 2 days. She was following the schedule of the day and we had enough time to enjoy each stop on the way without feeling rushed. Alexandra was very friendly and personable. She always tried to understand what is interesting for us to adjust her pace and speech.
We really got to skip the long lines to the museums as guide led us to the special entrance at the designated times. The Hermitage, Peterhof and the Faberge museum were simply stunning.
There was a canal cruise, an amazing relaxing experience after a full day of sightseeing. I have to mention the lunches, against my expectations they were delicious and varied on both days. On top of that, I would like to say our driver was excellent too.
If I had to go back in time and spend those 2 days in Russia again, I would not have changed a thing. It was marvelous!
Get a comprehensive overview of the St. Petersburg—considered to be the "Venice of the North"—on this 2-day small-group shore excursion. See famous sights including Peterhof, Catherine’s Palace, the Hermitage Museum and more. Enjoy skip-the-line admission to many attractions, a 3-course Russian lunch each day, a Neva River canal cruise, and a guided tour of the famous Faberge Museum.
The cruise ship tried to put you off booking outside trip but it was easy and far less cost. Met once we cleared immigration our group was 12 in a small Coach with a guide and driver. Fully packed days taking in all key sites, included 3 course lunch in price on one day. Guild was fab very informative and small group was great. Tour also include boat trip. I would highly recommend this trip.
We loved this tour! It visited all the main attractions in 2 days. Lunch on the first day was great! The schedule was ontime and we got to spend ample time at each attraction. I recommend this tour. Our tour guide was amazing!
Our guide Oleg from Ventura was amazing 6 out of 5. Just the right pace and just the right amount of information. St Petersburg is magnificent and the tour covered so much of it as well as Peterhoff. Russian lunch was a bonus.
Don't think twice, Just book it.
October is very cool but the que and crowds are so much smaller. No que at the Heritage was a miracle.

We had a fantastic visit to St. Petersburg. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and always eager to answer questions. Our driver always parked close to our destinations as well as stopping in appropriate photo opportunity places. We were thrilled with our tour.
Our tour guide, Roman was excellent. He told us the history of St. Petersburg and was very enthusiastic about his work. He answered all our questions. He was proud of his country. A wonderful experience.
We LOVED our 2-day tour of beautiful St. Petersburg. We were a little intimidated by the idea of being in Russia, but the tour guide and his helpers were fantastic and made us comfortable. We enjoyed every stop and would highly recommend this to anyone who does not already know this beautiful city, but anyone who feels a little insecure about being in Russia.

We met Victoria, our charming Russian host, at the completion of another tour (also with Ludmila Tours). We had already explained that we did not really want to go shopping and had seen plenty of palaces and cathedrals. What we wanted was to experience and explore some of the 'behind the scenes' St Petersburg. We were not able to do this on our own because we had not obtained Russian visas for our one and a half day stay. Victoria was wonderful. Her English was very easy to understand and she spoke at length about life in Russia in general and St Petersburg in particular. She took us to a great little coffee house and then we just wandered through backstreets, ventured into large courtyards hidden from view by large gates and surrounded by apartments, we looked in several 'ordinary' shops and also spent some time in a magnificent emporium on Nevsky Prospekt where the ordinary folk of St Petersburg buy their caviar! All the while, Victoria spoke entertainingly and knowledgeably of her own life and upbringing - she was very young when the USSR dissolved, but she had plenty of information about the kind of life that her parents had led under the previous regime. She also spoke about her own children and her hopes for their future. We enjoyed every minute of it and at less that ten euros apiece, it was an absolute bargain!
It will not be just shopping but a fun and joyful time during your staying in St Petersburg. Your guide has lots of surprises to you and after a busy day this adventure can be the highlight of your visit to Saint Petersburg.
2 Day Complete St Petersburg Tour with Faberge Museum
From $35.00 (Price varies by group size )
, Nov 2019
We traveled independently to St. Petersburg and booked this tour through Viator. Ludmila was very helpful with visa and other details. And the guide she provided was absolutely fantastic. She took us to all the well-known sites and a few off the beaten track, facilitating our entry and providing excellent information. Highly recommended!
We booked our first cruise solely for the purpose of going to St Petersburg, so it was critical that we made the most of the the two days we had there. Our two days were absolutely perfect. Our guide Jane was knowledgable and friendly and seemed to have a magic wand that whisked us to the front of all lines and enabled us to see so much in the time we had. The Mercedes minibus was comfortable and our driver Andrey manoeuvred us through St Petersburg and out to the countryside with finesse and was always ready waiting when we came out of an attraction. From the very beginning Ludmila was easy to communicate with and not having to worry about the Russian Visa process was a relief after doing it ourselves 18 months prior when we visited Moscow. St Petersburg was a stunning city and the museums, palaces and cathedrals incredibly ornate. The history shared by Jane was invaluable to help understand and appreciate all that we saw. Those on our cruise who participated in shore excursions provided by the ship did not cover anywhere as much as we did. I would totally recommend the mentioned tour in particular and Ludmila tours in general to anyone travelling to St Petersburg.
The easy going tour which introduces the city in the way to have fun and joy. Your top professional guide with perfect sense of humour will not leave you indifferent. The tour includes amazing - very beautiful The Faberge Museum, The Hermitage and other St-Petersburg sights. On the second day visit Catherine palace and Peterhof. Both residencies will be fantastic. Pleasant atmosphere, nice people around and reasonable prices are guaranteed.

Packed informative day to remember
, Sep 2019
We chose this excursion the first day of 2 in St. Petersburg cruise port. It was well worth the cost. Transportation and timing was stress free and efficient. Just tell the crew you are going to Moscow and you get off the ship with the early groups. It was a great way to see Moscow and we learned much about Russian people and society along with seeing the amazing landmarks.
We loved this tour. Our time was limited so this was a great way to see everything we wanted to see and travel to Moscow. Anton picked us up from the terminal, flew with us where we met Max in Moscow who showed us all around all the highlights of Moscow. Then we met back up with Anton who rode the train back to St. Petersburg with us. Definitely do this tour.

We chose to take the private excursion in St Petersburg and paid a little more than we wanted to, but well worth it! Our guide Elizabeth was amazing, she was patient and very knowledgeable. The Church of the spilled Blood was closed when we arrived but she still brought us there for pictures at our request. She also brought us to a souvenir shop and waited patiently and gave us tips. Beautiful city and can't wait to go back. Would highly recommend this tour and well worth the extra $$

St. Petersburg Private Amber Room Catherine Palace Visa-free tour
, Aug 2019
Definitely worth a trip. Since it was a weekend the drive from St. Petersburg was only about 40 minutes. The tickets had already been purchased for us so it was very convenient & we did not have to wait in line. The palace was a beauty and equally impressive were the Gardens. The van was very comfortable and out guide Vlad was great, funny and knowledgeable with perfect english!
Only thing i would recommend is a little more clarity in the pickup point. Our voucher said lobby of the business center after the address. However the point was actually a restaurant. We were lucky to have connection and could call to confirm the point. It would have been very difficult otherwise.

St. Petersburg Viator City Breaks Excursion
, Sep 2019
Our trip to St. Petersburg was based on a cruise that included this port. We were so excited about the St. Petersburg we immediately went in search of a 2 day excursion that would show us as much of the city as we could get in. We booked our tour through Viator, a company we have booked several tours through. They are extremely reliable and provide everything they say they will. City Break Tours of St. Petersburg is affiliated with Viator and MAria and George our driver picked us up the first day right on time. Maria was our tour guide and a woman who clearly loves her city and knows her city. Her knowledge and love of the city showed from Peterhof Gardens, the Tsars Village, The metro station, to the Hermitage..walking the city and a Dinner cruise on the canals in the evening. Maria took us to coffee shops and local areas we would not have seen on a bus. An extremely historical city not to be missed. Maria and George could not have been better hosts to their city. This is a highly recommended tour and Viator City Breaks Tour Company makes it memorable. Thank you Maria and George!

Our enjoyable excursion in St. Peterburg with Elena
, Sep 2019
Overall we had a really positive experience during our 2 day visit. Elena was very knowledgeable of Russian history and culture and that made the trip both in the city and countryside informative and enjoyable. She went out of her way to make sure she was showing us a good time.
Veronica was so very personable and knowledgeable my husband and I were so very comfortable and enjoyed the day immensely. We have decided all tours from this point forward will be the private tours, we were able to pick and choose the sights we were interested in, thus we had more time in these places.
A very nice day with a spanish tour guide in St Petersburgh
, Sep 2019
I scheduled a visit of the Hermitage and the main Cathedrals/Churches in St Petersburgh. The guide had everything planned to ensure that we were back on the ship on time for other commitment. She was very nice, flexible and accommodated the route to fit everything we wanted to do. It was expensive but worthy. I would have like to hear a bit more of the history of the country but maybe next time.

The tour is fully tailored to your interests, and transportation is provided in a private, air-conditioned, sedan or minibus. Pickup and drop-off at the port; no Russian visa required.
