2-Day Group Shore Excursion in St Petersburg with Faberge Museum & Boat Cruise
, Dec 2019
This shore tour with City Break Tours was one of the best tours I have ever been on. The organization was on the highest level and I can’t praise enough the professional skills of the guide Olga. She was native in tour leading and a great English speaker. Olga was very well informed on each topic and gave us a great insight of Russian history. We started off with a city tour which covered a major part of the city center and gave us an opportunity to capture some amazing views. The Winter Palace was breathtaking and I properly enjoyed the visit thanks to Olga who seemed to escape many lines. The lunches were satisfying and tasty. Overall the tour was a great value for money.
Passing through the passport control I was a little anxious that it will take more time than expected as there were lines. It appeared to take only about 20 minutes so I was in the terminal earlier than the tour starting time. Our lovely guide Polina was already waiting and kindly explained we had to wait for the other group members.
The tour took off at approximately 9:10 am when everyone was ready. The group was sized 14 people. The driver, Alexey, and Polina took us to the city center. There were some excellent picture opportunities and thanks god the weather was cloudless at this time.
The first visit of the day was the Hermitage. I was totally impressed with Polina's knowledge and the skill of orientation in the hundreds of corridors, halls and rooms. During our lunch time there was an opportunity to do a little shopping. We visited the Savior on the Spilled Blood which was truly magical. The boat trip on the canal was a wonderful way to end up the first day with.
On the second day, we traveled out of the city. Both places we visited were exceptionally remarkable. I do not have enough words to describe how much I enjoyed discovering these summer parks and gardens and learning about the history and the arts from our guide Polina.
Thank you so much for organizing this outstanding tour for us. It was our favorite city to visit this summer.
We had a wonderful time in Russia thanks to City Break Tours. As an experienced traveler I'm always taking small-group tours for me and my husband. We believe touring in a small group is the best way to discover the city in an easy way. Alexandra was our guide and she took care of us during those 2 days. She was following the schedule of the day and we had enough time to enjoy each stop on the way without feeling rushed. Alexandra was very friendly and personable. She always tried to understand what is interesting for us to adjust her pace and speech.
We really got to skip the long lines to the museums as guide led us to the special entrance at the designated times. The Hermitage, Peterhof and the Faberge museum were simply stunning.
There was a canal cruise, an amazing relaxing experience after a full day of sightseeing. I have to mention the lunches, against my expectations they were delicious and varied on both days. On top of that, I would like to say our driver was excellent too.
If I had to go back in time and spend those 2 days in Russia again, I would not have changed a thing. It was marvelous!
Get a comprehensive overview of the St. Petersburg—considered to be the "Venice of the North"—on this 2-day small-group shore excursion. See famous sights including Peterhof, Catherine’s Palace, the Hermitage Museum and more. Enjoy skip-the-line admission to many attractions, a 3-course Russian lunch each day, a Neva River canal cruise, and a guided tour of the famous Faberge Museum.
My favorite shore excursion EVER--see all the highlights of St Petersburg and learn from one of the best
, Oct 2019
Two FULL days of touring the best that St Petersburg has to offer. Purchasing this tour online, processing it, getting emails answered (no matter how stupid my question), getting through customs and finding the guide in port was ALL super easy and much faster than I anticipated. The tour guide is chock full of information about every site, all the history of each site, everything you see and the history of Russia and its culture and past. The shops have everything that you want to buy but do not assume that it is locally made. If you want to taste the vodka/coffee/tea at the shops, go their first as they put out one round and when it is gone it is gone. The staff in the shops speak perfect English and could not be nicer or more charming. The sites are amazing, truly spectacular, beauty around every turn. Listen to the guide when (s)he says to leave everything on the bus as we watched people being pickpocked. The walk around the grounds was incredible but is long and can be quite cold (you're outside for at least an hour walking around). We had a person in a wheelchair and a person with a walker and a few places were impossible for them to visit as the elevators were non existent or not working that day; just be prepared and flexible. Be prepared that it is TWO FULL DAYS of walking (including up and down lots of stairs), standing, and listening. The guide was unbelievably informative; just be prepared that there was no silence or time to just enjoy the beauty, the tour is constantly in motion with a constant lecture.. The lunches were two of the best meals that I've ever eaten served by amazing staff and in the most beautiful locations, completely diverse from each other. And my gluten free options were outstanding (you must preorder). This would not be a good tour for children or anyone who doesn't want to be in perpetual motion or learn about Russian history and art. For me, this was as close to perfection as any shore excursion I've ever done.
Excellent guide, Elena took us on a 2 day fabulous excursion that we could never have anticipated. She was very informative, kept on schedule, and provided exceptional talent in keeping everything organized and our group together without any incidents. The meals provided on both days exceeding our expectation and were very yummy. Highly recommend this tour to anyone able to do 2 days of touring which we were able to on our cruise with 3 nights in St. Petersburg on Norweigian.
Enjoy a luxurious experience of St. Petersburg during a comprehensive 2-day shore excursion in the remarkable Russian city. With an accomplished guide, discover the most sought-after sights, including the Peterhof Palace and the St. Isaac’s Cathedral, and gain valuable insight into intriguing Russian history and culture. Feast on traditional Russian food and relish the intimate ambiance of this small-group tour, limited to only 16 people.
The cruise ship tried to put you off booking outside trip but it was easy and far less cost. Met once we cleared immigration our group was 12 in a small Coach with a guide and driver. Fully packed days taking in all key sites, included 3 course lunch in price on one day. Guild was fab very informative and small group was great. Tour also include boat trip. I would highly recommend this trip.
We loved this tour! It visited all the main attractions in 2 days. Lunch on the first day was great! The schedule was ontime and we got to spend ample time at each attraction. I recommend this tour. Our tour guide was amazing!
Our guide Oleg from Ventura was amazing 6 out of 5. Just the right pace and just the right amount of information. St Petersburg is magnificent and the tour covered so much of it as well as Peterhoff. Russian lunch was a bonus.
Don't think twice, Just book it.
October is very cool but the que and crowds are so much smaller. No que at the Heritage was a miracle.
When your cruise visits St. Petersburg, discover the many splendors of the city on a comprehensive 2-day shore excursion, with no Russian visa required. Learn about the city’s past from an informative guide, and discover landmarks including the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and Peter and Paul Fortress. Witness the art highlights of the world-famous Hermitage Museum, cruise along the stately canals, visit the fountain-dotted Peterhof Park, and explore the Catherine Palace at Pushkin, including its world-renowned Amber Room.
2-Day St. Petersburg City and Local Culture Shore Excursion in a Small Group
2 Days in wonderful magic St. Petersburg
, Nov 2019
I honestly do not know how to explain how wonderful it was to do our tour with Ludmila. Over the course of planning this trip I realized Ludmila is a very genuine and honest person. The tour was really great, they even helped us plan a visit to see a folklore show the first evening of the St. Petersburg tour and transportation back to the ship. Our guide in St.Petersburg Xenia was the best of all. She went out of her way to make sure we were able to see everything on our itinerary. Even though circumstances on that particular day made other tour companies have to skip Catherine's Place, we did not have to. We also loved that we saw more than our ship tours, and with a smaller group. We did not opt for a private tour, however still felt like our group of 15 people was pretty private compared to the numbers we saw with the ship tour. When we left the ship there was a sign with our last names (along with the names of others on the tour) on it, not a sign with a tour company name that was waiting for lots of people and then were dividing them up in groups.
That was a nice personal touch.
Svetlana and Michael were the best guide and driver you could ask for. They were waiting for us as we left immigration just like we were told. There were 15 people on the comfortable minibus. WiFi and bottled water on board. We saw so much of St Petersburg in our 2 day tour and lunches were great!
Get a comprehensive overview of St. Petersburg on this 2-day shore excursion with a small group. Visit the Russian Imperial palaces, the Peterhof Fountain Park, and the famous Hermitage Museum. Take a canal cruise through the 'Venice of the North' and choose to upgrade your experience with a tour extension featuring visits to the Faberge Museum and some of the city's top nighttime attractions.
I am very glad that we have chosen this tour. Our guide Anna and our driver Boris provided excellent service. Anna has a great knowledge about Russian history and St Petersburg and her English was beyond expectation. It was a pleasure to listening her narratives. We saw so much during 2 days of this tour what would be not possible with big group ( just think about a time needed for 40+ people to go in and out of the bus in addition to waiting in the queue to enter museums). The car was very comfortable Mercedes sedan, we were asked if we prefer bigger one. Boris is an excellent driver. We never got stack in the traffic and park always close to the spot. This tour is very suitable for someone with mobility problem. It absolutely worth the money and we decided as much as possible to take private tour like this one in the future. We highly recommend this tour and appreciate very much Anna and Boris for taking exceptional care of us in beautiful city of St Petersburg.
We had an amazing two days with Olga. Olga's knowledge of each place we visited throughout the city was extensive, from the museums to the architecture, to the overall history of beautiful St. Petersburg. She made our time there very enjoyable. I recommend this private tour to anyone spending two days in this amazing city, it was the perfect length of time, allowing for time after to do a bit of exploring on your own once the tour was complete mid-afternoon each day.
Embark on a 2-day private guided tour of St Petersburg and immerse yourself in the city's many wonders. This multi-day excursion allows you to delve beneath the surface of some top attractions for a more thorough and rewarding experience. Learn the story behind the onion-domed Church on Spilled Blood, marvel at Peterhof's magnificent fountains, and see the ongoing restoration of Catherine Palace, largely destroyed during WWII. Cruise along the canals of this 'Venice of the North' and explore both the Hermitage and the city's metro stations: artworks in themselves.
Mini-Group 2-Day Shore Excursion of St Petersburg Must-Sees and Boat Cruise
, Nov 2019
Everything about this tour was perfect. the guide was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English language. the van was clean and the driver was experienced. the places we visited were splendid. my personal gem was the church of the spilled blood. absolutely stunning! for lunch, we were taken to local diners to taste Russian pies, pancakes, soups, and sweets. on both days lunches cost us under 10 USD per person and were very tasty. we were everywhere right on time and even had some free time for shopping for some souvenirs for my kids. I will probably not remember any historical data that I learnt on this trip but I will definitely remember the great time we had. Thank you Polina and George (our guide and driver).
It was my first trip to Russia and it was amazing. The tour company organized the visas and the control passed faster than expected.
Our guide Maria was excellent at bringing history to life but it did not seem like a history lecture. She was sharing lots of useful details about everyday life and her opinion honestly whenever we asked her a question. Maria was very gracious and patient with us.
The driver, Nicholay, was very pleasant and knew the best parking spots to cut the walking distance.
Thanks to their great team play we got to see as much as we could in this short time and it was definitely worth taking this cruise voyage in the first place.
This tour is the must-do on your Baltic Sea cruise. Don’t doubt in booking this tour this team knows what they are doing and so far it was one of the best tours I ve ever taken . The guide was brilliant and the driver very professional it’s a pity I ve forgotten their names. Saying goodbye to these nice people I actually thought that on this tour I got even more than what I paid for or expected .
Spend your days in port exploring the highlights of St. Petersburg. Your guide meets your small group at the port each day to take you in a comfortable minibus to the sights. Visit the Hermitage, the Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood, Catherine Palace and famed Amber Room, the fountains and gardens of Peterhof Palace and more, including a cruise along the canals of the city.
St Petersburg 2 Day Top-Guided Optimized Mini-Group Tour Introducing The Best of the City And Its Suburbs
From $185.00 (Price varies by group size )
What a Lovely Experience - A Must!
, Jan 2020
We were on a Baltic Cruise in May/June 2019. Having booked many tours with Viator I was interested in their 2 day tour of St. Petersburg. What a great experience. We were met at the pier once we cleared customs. We had 2 full days of touring. Our guide was most knowledgeable and we learned a lot, not only about St. Petersburg, but also about Russia. We also enjoyed a local meal. We were a small group in a min-van so had the opportunity to interact with fellow travellers. I would be remiss if I did not mention that we had a very professional driver who appeared to enjoy his work.
I highly recommend this tour.
Faultless tour of St Petersburg by Ludmila Tours. Met outside immigration on time with no fuss. Our guide, Eleyna (not sure about the spelling) was amazing. Very helpful and knowledgeable with a great depth of local history.
The tour was exceptional value for two days and included all the sights on our list.
No waiting in line for the main attractions. A big plus.
A very good small group two day tour.
Can not recommend it highly enough.
We enjoyed 2 great days with very friendly staff, especially Tatiana! The palaces were amazing and we didn’t have to wait in huge line ups as we were with a tour. We also saved on the cost of a Russian Visa . We felt very safe at all times and would highly recommend Viator to get a great taste of Saint Petersburg! Thank-you so much!
Make the most of your time in St. Petersburg on this small-group shore excursion limited to just 15 people. Spending two days exploring offers the opportunity to not only see the city's top sights, including the Hermitage Museum, but also to go outside the city to explore the cities of Peterhof and Pushkin.
Our Alla tour guide Eugenia was phenomenal! We had a two day action packed tour which was perfectly orchestrated. We had early entry tickets to the Hermitage which allowed us to get started ahead of hundreds of other visitors. Advance tickets, when available, had been purchased to expedite every facet of each visit. Thoroughly enjoyed the Hermitage, Peter and Paul Cathedral, the church on Spilled Blood, St Isaac’s Cathedral, riding the subway, the boat tour, lunch at a traditional Russian restaurant and the lengthy walk around The Peterhof gardens. On day 2 we walked over 5 miles, resulting in two of our 8 passengers sitting out St Catherine’s palace which was the most crowded. Personally, I would drop the Yusupov Palace and add the Faberge Museum as the palace did not measure up to the others. Kudos to Eugenia and driver Sergei with his comfortable MB van for perfectly timing every stop. Highly recommend
We completed this 2 day tour with our guide Demitre who was excellent, sharing his knowledge and passion for St Petersburg. We were on a cruise and did not know what to expect but all of the sights exceeded our expectations, we have never seen so much gold and decoration in and on buildings anywhere else in the world.
On arrival at the port we cleared border control and were greeted by a rep from Alla Tours, everything was as described in the programme, small group, clean mini bus, excellent guide and driver. Would recommend and use this company again if we returned.
This 2-day tour through St. Petersburg gets you acquainted with the city, its history, and its culture. Visit Catherine Palace, Peterhof Garden (Petrodvorets), Rasputin Museum at the Yusupov Palace, the Russian-Orthodox Peter and Paul Cathedral, and Saint Isaac's Cathedral. Plus go on a canal and riverboat ride, and gain early access to The Hermitage.
We had a fantastic visit to St. Petersburg. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and always eager to answer questions. Our driver always parked close to our destinations as well as stopping in appropriate photo opportunity places. We were thrilled with our tour.
Our tour guide, Roman was excellent. He told us the history of St. Petersburg and was very enthusiastic about his work. He answered all our questions. He was proud of his country. A wonderful experience.
We LOVED our 2-day tour of beautiful St. Petersburg. We were a little intimidated by the idea of being in Russia, but the tour guide and his helpers were fantastic and made us comfortable. We enjoyed every stop and would highly recommend this to anyone who does not already know this beautiful city, but anyone who feels a little insecure about being in Russia.
Maximize your time in the remarkable Russian city of St. Petersburg on a comprehensive 2-day shore excursion to major attractions and historical landmarks. Alongside an expert guide, visit the majestic Peterhof Fountain Park; browse intriguing exhibits in the Hermitage, Russia’s largest museum; and absorb the sacred ambiance of ecclesiastical structures like the Church on the Spilled Blood, and the Peter and Paul Cathedral. Gain valuable insight into the rich history of the city and travel by luxury, air-conditioned vehicle for the duration of your tour.

We traveled independently to St. Petersburg and booked this tour through Viator. Ludmila was very helpful with visa and other details. And the guide she provided was absolutely fantastic. She took us to all the well-known sites and a few off the beaten track, facilitating our entry and providing excellent information. Highly recommended!
We booked our first cruise solely for the purpose of going to St Petersburg, so it was critical that we made the most of the the two days we had there. Our two days were absolutely perfect. Our guide Jane was knowledgable and friendly and seemed to have a magic wand that whisked us to the front of all lines and enabled us to see so much in the time we had. The Mercedes minibus was comfortable and our driver Andrey manoeuvred us through St Petersburg and out to the countryside with finesse and was always ready waiting when we came out of an attraction. From the very beginning Ludmila was easy to communicate with and not having to worry about the Russian Visa process was a relief after doing it ourselves 18 months prior when we visited Moscow. St Petersburg was a stunning city and the museums, palaces and cathedrals incredibly ornate. The history shared by Jane was invaluable to help understand and appreciate all that we saw. Those on our cruise who participated in shore excursions provided by the ship did not cover anywhere as much as we did. I would totally recommend the mentioned tour in particular and Ludmila tours in general to anyone travelling to St Petersburg.
The easy going tour which introduces the city in the way to have fun and joy. Your top professional guide with perfect sense of humour will not leave you indifferent. The tour includes amazing - very beautiful The Faberge Museum, The Hermitage and other St-Petersburg sights. On the second day visit Catherine palace and Peterhof. Both residencies will be fantastic. Pleasant atmosphere, nice people around and reasonable prices are guaranteed.
All 12 of us wanted to thank Viator and Ludmila Tours for our excellent tour in St. Petersburg. We had a great time, and your tour guide Elena was the best. We felt like we were with family, rather than tour guide. St. Petersburg was beautiful, but what we will remember forever is the kindness and hospitality and the friendship that we felt with our guide and driver. We will strongly recommend this tour to anyone going to St. Petersburg and we hope to return again too!
Mid Oct 2019 we traveled to St Petersburg from Australia. We had been told that this was an amazing place to visit; we were not disappointed. Booking two days of non-stop sightseeing was the best things that we did. Ludmila and her team made it incredibly easy for us. All our questions were answered by email before we left Australia. Once we arrived in St.Petersburg our English-speaking guide Nataly was totally focused on making sure we were taken to all of the places that we wanted to see plus more. The fact that you are taken to the locations and dropped off as close to the front door as possible and then picked up afterwards, was nothing short of amazing. We did not have to worry about anything. We am so glad we booked with Ludmila tours.
Our tour guide Eugenia was amazing. We never had to join the long queues as she got us straight in to all the venues. Her knowledge and delivery of it was faultless. We got to see and do everything we had hoped for.
Maximize your time in St. Petersburg and see the sights on a tour that covers two full days. The in-depth sightseeing experience takes in all the must-see St. Petersburg landmarks including Catherine Palace and Park, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Peterhof Grand Palace, and more. You’ll have commentary on each sight you visit, plus ample free time to explore on your own.
This two-day St. Petersburg shore excursion has been especially designed so that cruise ship passengers can make the most of a short time in the city. It’s hassle free, as you won’t need a visa. Spend two days visiting the highlights in and around the city, and learning about its long history and rich culture. This is an ideal tour for first-time visitors to St. Petersburg who don’t want to miss out on the best bits.
Our driver picked us up from our ship right on time and it was a fairly short drive to the theater in the beautiful Nikolayevsky Palace. The quartet of male singers in the beginning had outstanding voices and were good showmen as well, The musician, singers and dancers all did a great job and the costumes were wonderful. During intermission, a lovely array of fruits and snacks and beverages was available. We had a wonderful time.
Witness the colorful energy and vibrant charm of Russian folk show, 'Feel Yourself Russian,' during a captivating performance at Nikolayevsky Palace in St. Petersburg. Upgrade your tour to include round-trip transportation from your St. Petersburg hotel and enjoy the convenience of traveling to and from the venue in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Be mesmerized by the vocal quartets and dramatic dances of the show and revitalize with traditional Russian snacks during the interval (own expense).
Simply The Best of Saint Petersburg 2 day mini-group Shore Excursion
Spectacular Shore Excursion!
, Oct 2019
Recently visited St. Petersburg and had the most wonderful 2-days. We saw all the highlights of this amazing city. The Hermitage (minus the cloak room...that part is no fun) was amazing. Nice boat tour but you have to sit up top to really benefit from the tour. Peterhof, also amazing. The trip on the subway was a huge highlight for us we just wish we could have gone a couple more stops. Lunch on the first day was fine, nothing spectacular but a great representation of traditional Russian lunch. This one was included in our ticket price. Lunch on day 2 was a bit more of a challenge. The restaurant was not prepared for us so it took forever but that was on the restaurant, not the tour operator. The guides for the tours worked hard to get restaurant staff to fix it which slowly got better. By that time, food was cold. This lunch is on your own money which was a bummer. The tour overall was good and I would recommend it to anyone but what made it special was our guide Tatiana! She was amazingly knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, accommodating and flexible. Her calm demeanor and positive nature made for an exceptional experience. Thanks to her, our 2-days in St. Petersburg were very memorable and will remain with us forever.
First, there was a very good communication between the excursion staff and myself. They were always swift in replying to any queries. Our guide Svetlana was passionate about Saint Petersburg and she made the 2 days very enjoyable, unforgettable and memorable. She is a Mega guide! My highlight was the river cruise. Lovely views and pictures. Be prepared for large crowds in the Hermitage and Catherine's Palace.
Our guide Svetlana was excellent especially at getting us through large queues and she was very well informed on all her subjects. We saw so many wonderful places and never felt too rushed as we were in a small group of 14 people.
Day Trip to Suzdal and Vladimir with traditional Russian lunch
From $403.00 (Price varies by group size )
Best experience of the trip!
, Aug 2019
Flawless from beginning to end. From the driver who picked us up from our hotel to hand deliver us to our train car, to the pick up on the other end in Vladimir, our drivers were engaging and fun and professional. Our guide for the day was knowledgeable and entertaining. She shared cultural experiences as well as historical facts and it made all the difference to our experience. The return trip to Moscow via train was equally easy due to the care provided by our drivers who ensured we knew which car to enter and at the final stop, they were waiting for us at the train car in Moscow to take us back to our hotel. it is a long day, but I am so glad that we went and that we decided to take the train option instead of traveling in Moscow traffic. This company provided excellent service and I highly recommend them.
See the highlights of Suzdal and Vladimir, two of Russia’s Golden Ring cities, without getting lost on this day trip from Moscow, a tour with special appeal for first-time visitors. Your tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off.

Historical downtown, fascinating St Basil Cathedral, the Kremlin with its sacred cathedrals and crenelated walls (please book in advance, visit not included in the cost), remote Tsar’s residence – Kolomenskoye summer estate and the ancient Novodevichy Convent, which history is closely connected with the history of Russian Grand Princes and Tsars. Immerse in local culture while visiting the Tretyakov Gallery – the largest Russian painting collection and discover Muzeon park – the park of Fallen Idols with the XX century sculptures of soviet leaders. This private tour gives you an opportunity to explore St Petersburg at your own comfortable pace. You will visit the Hermitage Museum, the Faberge Museum, the Spilled Blood Church and the Lower Park of Peterhof. Taking a river cruise will show you the new sides of the historical city center. This program is perfect for those who want to feel the atmosphere of the city and is not eager to spend the majority of the tour time inside the museums.
A fantastic day ... Olga couldn’t have been more friendly !
Pick up was very straightforward..... tour was perfect , we saw everything as indicated & more .... pace was perfect, her knowledge & enthusiasm was brilliant.... the included lunch was traditional & delicious ... Olga really was the perfect tour guide, we had a great time with her & it always felt comfortable & relaxed ... yet highly efficient & enjoyable ! A must do in St Petersburg
Just back from a wonderful trip to St Petersburg! It is a stunning city choc full of history and to that end we booked a full day tour to cover some of the major sights! We were truly blessed to have a wonderful tour guide in Olga! She was courteous friendly and incredibly knowledgable about her amazing city and the tour itself was seem-less! One of the great advantages of visiting St Petersburg in winter is the complete lack of queues at all the major sites and walking around the Hermitage with virtually no one there was a great pleasure. I Would highly recommend Olga and the tour and we look forward to our next visit to this beautiful city!
I have just finished a 3 week journey from Beijing to St. Petersburg. Along the way I have taken many tours. This tour is tops on my list!
Olga! You must ask for Olga! She has an amazing sense of humor and she knows her facts! History was never my favorite subject, but if I had had Olga as a history teacher, I think I might have changed my major! She was patient when I took 5 million photos. She never tried to hurry me.
For a 1 day tour I feel like I got 3 days in! All of the churchs/cathedrals AND the Hermitage! If I had tried to visit the Hermitage on my own I would have missed so much. She knew the details of many paintings. Once she knew the kind of paintings I liked, she selected the next exhibit to suit my tastes! This truly was a custom tour and I could not be happier with my day and it is all due to Olga!
Get acquainted with St. Petersburg and its sights with this day-long tour of the city. Covering more ground and sights than you would do by foot, the coach tour takes in all the top St. Petersburg attractions including St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Palace Square, and the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. You’ll even savor a traditional Russian lunch and visit the State Hermitage Museum, too.
Best of the Best 2-Day St Petersburg Shore Excursion
Russian Shore Excursion, Best Guides Tour Company
, Aug 2019
This tour was taken through Best Guides during our stopover in St. Petersburg. Well, have to admit was afraid of the unkown, since had not done this one before and with a country, which requires a visa. If you take an organized tour through either your ship or a private tour company this helps in not getting the paperwork done for a visa. I was scared, but it all worked out through a private tour company. You just keep the paperwork with you they send you to present at immigration control with along your passport. Keep the same paperwork even for the 2nd day, this is like your visa. Best Guides were excellent! Our guide Irina met us as instructed in the large hall after passport control. We saw so many things! It can be exhausting, but well worth it! Unfortunately, we did not make it to the folk dance show, because it would mean we would have been out all day until around 9-10pm. But others may have better fortitude. It was almost like a private tour, because there were only 4 others in our group. They used a nice Mercedes Sprinter and supplied bottled water along with 2 excellent lunches. We saw Peterhoff utilizing a hydrofoil to get there, the 2nd day was the Hermitage, Church of Spilled Blood, Canal Tour and a chance to check out a metro station. Only regret was not seeing the Faberge Egg collection, but another time. Our driver Anatole was very helpful in getting my husband's phone connected to their wifi in the van and since I'm kinda short.. He even got a stool to help me get in and out of the van. So I highly recommend this tour company and my fears were allayed.
If you want a tour of this beautiful city, go to bestguides-spb.com and pick your tour. From start to finish this company provided myself and friend with the most memorable two days in this fabulous city and with any luck your tour will be around 6 and could end up like us on the second day with us, guide, and driver. They are a patient company also because disembarkation in Russia is not easy and we were going to be late leaving the ship. I texted the company and they said they knew this might happen and not to worry and someone would be a port when we got off. Well there was and we were transported to a parking lot to meet the van containing 2 more couples. The tour was fantastic, well thought out, at a pace suitable for the six of us and the guide was knowledgeable, polite, conversed with us to make sure all was well. We saw so much the first day it was hard to believe. Second day we had the same guide and different driver and again everything went smoothly, not to forget the great lunches we had both days in two different restaurants. The drivers on both days need to be commended for the driving skills that provided us with a safe environment while touring the different areas of the city. If touring in a small group with a good tour guide and driver is what you are looking for, I would recommend taking a look at what this company offers when planning a visit to St. Petersburg and definitely ask for the canal cruise which brings the city into perspective.
A convenient two-day tour of city sights, with visits to the imperial palaces in the suburbs, is great for first-time visitors to St. Petersburg. The comprehensive guided overview includes admission to the Hermitage, daily restaurant lunches, boat tour along the canals, a visit to Catherine Palace, and a hydrofoil ride to Peterhof. Cruise-ship port pickup and drop-off is included.
Explore St. Petersburg the way you want with a private, full-day flexible tour. Customize your perfect itinerary in advance and relax with pre-arranged logistics and pre-booked skip-the-line tickets. Discover highlights like St. Isaac’s Cathedal and Church on the Spilled Blood, take a canal cruise, or devote time to the Hermitage, Catherine Palace, or Peterhof — you choose. Entrance fees and meals are at your own expense, with private air-conditioned transport and guiding services included.
When your cruise ship docks in St Petersburg, explore the city and surrounding sights over two days on a private shore excursion that does not require Russian travel visas. With a private guide, take a city tour on Day 1 to see attractions like Cathedral on Spilled blood, and visit the Hermitage Museum.
