San Antonio Museum of Art Tours

1 Review
They say everything's bigger in Texas — even the museums. Occupying an old Lone Star Brewery building, the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) touts the largest collection of Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Asian art in the southern United States, drawing travelers who flock to the site for a fix of international and local art. In total, SAMA offers more than 30,000 objects d’art, representing 5,000 years of history from around the globe.

In addition to its impressive collection, the museum offers guests an insight into the culture that goes along with the artwork. Take a tour, enroll in classes or join a gallery talk to dive into various pieces, and be sure to check the museum calendar for special exhibitions, films and performances each month. A quick 30-minute walk from San Antonio’s downtown precinct, it’s easy to make the museum part of the San Antonio itinerary.
