Excellent! Highly recommend. Driver was great and with good humor. The only thing- wish we spend more time in woods. May be to create 4.5 or 5hr tour with more time in Muir Woods?
Great value tour. Muir Woods is simply sensational and not too far to travel. Combined with the Sausalito excursion the overall tour gives you a nice glimpse of the many attractions in San Francisco.
We took this tour on October 8 and had a wonderful experience. We were picked up right at our hotel, on time, by our fantastic guide for the journey. Muir Woods is breathtaking. Our guide got us there just before the crowds came in and the peaceful beginning we had was super. Our wine tastings and lunch were just as enjoyable. When we thought we were heading home, our guide ended the journey with a stop at one of the best places to view the Golden Gate Bridge and the harbor. Simply amazing! Everyone needs to take this adventure. Be sure to ask for Vlad as your guide. He was awesome.
It was an excellent tour. We got about 1.5 hours in Muir Wood national monument, that time is enough to see the most important parts of it.
Then we got to spend some time in Sausalito which was great because its a beautiful town. A lot of people complain about the amount of time you stay on Sausalito but when you pick the tour they specify the amount of time you will have so nobody con complain about it. You can always comeback if you want to or take the ferry back.
Roman was an incredible guide for this day trip. The tour moves fast, but you get to see so many things it makes it worth worth the money. The wineries were fantastic and Muir Woods was beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with limited time in the Bay area.
Our group wanted to do a hike of Muir Woods, but since we did not rent a car, we decided to do this tour. We did the afternoon tour. It worked out perfectly with our schedule. We had lunch at the Ferry building and walked over to Fisherman Warf to meet at their tour office. We checked in for our tour and waited for tour bus to arrive. I recommend sitting on the right side of the bus for the best scenic view. We stopped at the golden gate bridge for a photo op. Then we headed to Muir Woods. It is a curvy windy road, so caution if you get car sick. We got about 1.5 hr to explore and hike the area. Lastly we stopped at Sausailto, looked at the shops and sat at the margarita bar for some drinks. Bus driver always gave a due time back to the bus. The passengers were always onetime back. Bus driver was great, offering commentary history and facts along the way. Very friendly and accommodating. Bus driver offered to drop us off back at the hotel on our way home. He had to make quite a few stops, dropping the other passengers off. There was a lot of traffic as we got into the city, so we ended up walking back to our hotel as we got nearer. The tour was about 5 hours including the drop off at the end. Highly recommend doing it.
A fascinating trip to Muir woods, made all the more enjoyable by the very knowledgeable guide, Sausalito was also excellent but enjoyable as the trip was, it was the guide who helped make it such a great experience
This tour was absolutely perfect!! They picked us up at our hotel and had a nice quiet start to our day at Muir Woods! Other tours we looked at did not include Muir Woods and we were glad we stopped there! The 3 wineries were great and got better as the day went along. I would recommend this tour
Great tour. Driver was excellent and very entertaining. Muir Woods is hauntingly beautiful. Well worth the money. Took ferry back from Sausalito.
The Muir Woods and Wine Country with gourmet lunch was great. Weather was fine, wineries did a great job and lunch was top notch.
Loved it. Wonderful, easy trip out of San Francisco. The woods are phenomenal - a really nice break from the city. Our driver/guide, Randy, was exceptional. He provided lots of fun facts as we drove toward Muir Woods and then toward Sausalito. The bus was very clean and comfortable. We opted to return by ferry rather than taking the bus back. My family of four 2 adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 13 had a terrific day.
Had a fantastic day. First off, Romain our guide made the day so fun - we laughed so much on the coach and learnt a lot too!
Getting to Muir woods so early was perfect as we were able to walk through the trees with no one else around - on the way back to the coach we could see the hoards of people coming into the forest and were glad to have had the opportunity to see the forest in a peaceful atmosphere. There was only an hour to walk around so for people who want to do the longer trails you'll need to find an extra day - we were only in San Francisco for a long weekend so wanted to do as much as possible and even though it was only and hour in the forest, it was a great experience!
The wine tasting was fun and the different vineyards all had their own unique charm.
Topped off with a bonus stop on the way back by the Golden Gate Bridge for some great photos.
Muir woods was magical. The most peaceful place I have ever been. 45 minutes in Sausalito was hardly enough time. Would have liked a bit more time there. The free wifi promised on the bus was non-existent.
Excellent tour. Muir Woods were very lovely, and the wineries were great. My only complaint would be that I wish it was longer and that we got to spend more time at each winery. One winery was a bit rushed, though the other two we spent a good amount of time at. The tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and fun.
The trip was excellent....Viator picked us up at our hotel then took us to the Golden Gate Bridge where we were given about 10 minutes to take photos....the on to Muir Wood which wwas beautiful. The bus driver was excellent and gave us ample time at each location
Tour guide Randy is AWESOME. Helpful, funny without being obnoxious and spot on with his other city recommendations. I travel frequently domestic and abroad and I can say that Randy is one of the best guides I've had the pleasure of listening to. Alcatraz was a bucket list tour for my husband and I and if you are going to San Francisco - BOOK EARLY - and do the Muir Woods Alcatraz tour. This is a MUST SEE while in this part of our great country. Kudos to Randy for making the experience even better!
Everyone should make the time to visit the Muir Woods, the views were absolutely beautiful. Sausalito was also a great place to visit. I would recommend taking a ferry back from Sausalito to San Francisco so that you have ample time to enjoy the town and eat at one of the numerous places to dine. The coach bus driver was very informative and the pick-up and drop-off at the hotel was very convenient.
Short an sweet. This was the shortage tour we booked only four hours but well worth the trip short of going a lot further north to see the Redwoods. Muir Woods if a beautiful place to visit and go back to nature much better than what is happening in our world today. Highly recommend it.
This was a wonderful trip to Muir Woods and Wine Country. Our tour guide Antony was the best. He was knowledgeable with a great sense of humor which of course made it that much more enjoyable. The redwood trees are stupendous and it is hard to fathom that they have been around for thousands of years. Would have liked to have more time to explore Muir Woods so a second trip is definitely necessary. The Wine Country part of the tour was equally as wonderful. The 3 boutique wineries had some very tasty wines albeit Cline was my favorite. We had purchase the lunch with wine pairings and it was very delicious. Although the wine didn't always arrive with the food it was to be paired with which would have made it a bit better. I would definitely recommend this tour although maybe without the lunch as wandering the town might have been a better choice.
Interesting, fun and good value. Appreciated getting to Muir Woods to enjoy it in peace, and lunch in Sonoma, ahead of the crowds. Good variety of wineries 3 in total. Reasonable-size group about 30.Our guide, Roman, was outstanding--very entertaining and knowledgeable--and kept us on time without feeling rushed.
A great visit to Alcatraz starting first with a visit to Muir Woods and Sausalito both of which are really beautiful. Alcatraz itself is still in marvellous condition and the audio tour really completes the picture. Very interesting tour and worth the money and time whilst in the lovely San Francisco Bay Area.
Very good trip to Muir Woods. Driver was very informative. Took us to a great photo spot of Golden Gate Bridge before bringing us back to the city. Got us to the Alcatraz queue on time. The only slight annoyance was the need to phone 24 hours beforehand to confirm the booking which had already been confirmed and paid for beforehand. Also there was a lot of waiting around before the trip started.
We were picked up promptly by our funny and knowledgeable guide for the trip. The beauty of Muir Woods speaks for itself. The wineries were well chosen with beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Nice to have someone else do the driving and not have to rent a car.
Excellent trip. Muir Woods and Sausalito well worth a visit. Good value for money.
