North Coast of Puerto Rico from San Juan: Arecibo Observatory and Cueva del Indio
A must do!!!
, Jan 2020
Angel was fantastic, interesting and entertaining! The way he presents his Island is with love and wonder and puts everything into making sure you have a wonderful experience. I've seen the Island before but never have I enjoyed it so much. Be sure to go with this tour with Tourism Family. The best.
This full-day tour allows you to explore Arecibo Observatory, and relax on a black magnetic sand beach. Skip the hassle of renting a car to explore these landmarks and highlights, including Cueva del Indio, with convenient pickup and drop-off at your San Juan hotel.
Explore two of Puerto Rico’s most massive landmarks as you spend 9.5 hours visiting the impressive Cueva Ventana and the world-famous Arecibo Observatory. Window Cave, as it is also known, is a network of caves atop a limestone cliff once only accessible to locals. Admire the elaborate stalactite and stalagmite formations, discover impressive fauna of the caves that eventually lead to panoramic views across the Rio Grande de Arecibo Valley. Then visit the world’s largest radio telescope at Arecibo, a 20-acre (8-hectare) dish used to observe the universe, exploring a range of natural attractions and scientific exhibits on site. Your trip also includes entrance fees, bottled water and round-trip hotel transport.
Kayak through the waters of Laguna Grande, a stunning bioluminescent lagoon, during this half-day tour from San Juan. Watch the glowing organisms in the water light up as your kayak slides through the water. Paddle through stands of mangrove trees and watch small fish dart through the water underneath your boat like shooting stars. Stop for a break with snacks and refreshments before heading back to your starting point. Use of all kayaking equipment and round-trip hotel transfers are included.
Bioluminescent Bay Night Kayaking & Rainforest Tour Combo
, Jan 2020
This was the perfect way to end our day. We were not the least bit disappointed in the bioluminescence. How amazing it was! The tour was very well organized, the staff were most pleasant, and everything went smoothly.
This combination tour includes a visit to El Yunque National Forest and a nighttime kayaking tour of Laguna Grande, a bioluminescent bay. Stroll a walkway the winds through the treetops of the forest canopy. After a leisurely lunch (and time for shopping), travel to Laguna Grande to witness the unique phenomenon of bioluminescence.
Fun day in the sun! Basic but tasty lunch, plenty of drinks, snorkel gear and some beach time. Be prepared to get wet on the way to snorkel if you are in the back of the boat!!! Wish I would have had more time at the beach but was a great day trip!
This was an AMAZING tour! The crew was super kind and helpful during the whole day. If you want a tour that is fun, lively, and informative definitely book this tour. Flamenco beach was breathtaking! The only negative was not knowing what time to be ready for pickup. Though I did book it at 2AM that morning, I was hoping to see the times listed throughout the booking process. I think that information would definitely be beneficial for people that may book after business hours. Thanks so much Ken and crew for a great day at sea.
Save money and get a rounded experience of island life on this full-day tour from Fajardo to Culebra Island. Embark on a boat ride through open waters to the island of Culebra where you can snorkel the reefs and see diverse marine life, or simply hang out on the beaches while the boat crew provides complimentary tropical drinks and buffet-style lunch.
The tour guide did an excellent job talking us to all of the popular spots in the rain forest. He was very knowledgeable regarding plants, but he took a little too long exploring flora in the parking lot before we even got started. I wish we could have spent a little more time hiking in the rain forest, instead of just driving from spot to spot.
Discover the natural wonders of El Yunque Rainforest on this laid-back half-day exploration from San Juan. Visit a beautiful waterfall, incredible views and more than 240 species of plants and animals that call this sub-tropical habitat home. Your Puerto Rico rain forest tour also includes round-trip transportation from most hotels in San Juan, professional guide and all park entrance fees.
Escape the crowds in San Juan with a small-group trip into Puerto Rico's mountains and a less-traveled beach. After a pickup at a central location in San Juan, Condado, or Isla Verde, head to Gozalandia Waterfall to take a dip in the refreshing water or just admire the lush view. Then drive to Cerra Gorda Beach for lunch (your expense) and time for relaxation, before being returned to your pickup point.
Ernest tour guide is great. He knows the rainforest. Walk is of moderate intensity , only fit person should go. Better understanding why and what is a rainforest.
Bumpy road and the first 1.5 hr is getting other tourist
Local food you pay on your own is good
The tour was ok, and for me personally the only option to visit the rainforest. The driver was excellent, he took care of me and the rest of the group for the while trip extremely well and he did more than you could expect from a driver.
The guide on the other hand while perhaps very knowledgeable, was unable to read the guests properly and offer the information in a suitable format. Timewise some of the group was rather disappointed for the nature walk part to be cut in short. Instead of telling we have x minutes to do the short hike, the guide paused us constantly for biology lessons and eventually he told we would have to turn around and get back without getting to the tower we were heading to. People coming down said it is well worth the climb and after the guide claimed we don't have strenght for the hike, many of us felt embarrased for no reason at all. Hopefully it was not because of me as I stayed behind to take a photo of a lizzard in a tree.
With different tour guide the experience would have been more than average, but I am sure there are people who would enjoy the tour guided by him.
Harmonize your senses with nature and join us on a guided tour of one of the most visited places in Puerto Rico, El Yunque National Forest, the only rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Our guide takes you on an unforgettable hike followed by a refreshing swim.

An Eco-Adventure – For outdoor enthusiast and nature lovers only.
Nature Walk – Through El Yunque National Forest.
Chance to swim in crystal clear river water.
Andre was very helpful. Knowledgeable, pleasant. Mitchell was solid. Great with assists and was a great assistant to Andre. I gave it five stars. Perhaps more should be stated about the risk of injury. We were not injured but wet shoes and rocks pose a risk of harm. Also, the actual "hike" is pretty short.
Our day couldn't have been better! We had gorgeous weather, and it was an unforgettable experience. We spent most of our time in the water, jumping near waterfalls and swimming in natural pools. We usually go hiking on our vacations, and I would say this is a little bit of hiking and more rock scrambling and swimming. The nature was gorgeous but the guides really made the experience next-level. They were super knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, very safe and responsible, but also fun! They even took some great pictures for us while we were jumping into the water. This experience really made our trip special - highly recommend.
Fernando and Ponce were terrific! They were engaging, helpful and made me and the entire group feel safe and cared for throughout the tour. I would highly recommend this excursion if you are in somewhat decent shape and love to explore and do thrilling things. Jumping off a cliff / the natural water slides and rope swing were definitely the highlights of this trip. Not to mention the gorgeous scenery of the plants, waterfalls and rivers. Loved the whole thing!
Feel like a true Puerto Rican explorer during this day of "off-the-beaten path" discovery in El Yunque rainforest. Avoid the big crowds from the cruise ships and hotels as you blaze a trail to the lesser-known attractions of this lush tropical eden. Admire gorgeous orchids, exotic birds and wildlife like the Coquí (tree frog) as you hike to secret waterfalls and hidden swimming spots, enjoying your secluded adventure amidst the fresh air and beautiful scenery of this Puerto Rican paradise. National park fees, plus round-trip hotel transport, are included.
Live out your island castaway fantasies aboard a luxury catamaran as you visit the deserted tropical island of Cayo Icacos from San Juan on this half-day sailing cruise. Sail into the aquamarine waters of the Caribbean, admiring views of the El Yunque mountains in the distance, before arriving at the nature preserve of Icacos for a leisurely day of swimming, snorkeling, and a lunch buffet with drinks.
We wanted to get out of San Juan for the day and see more of Puerto Rico. This was the perfect tour for that. Jerry showed us some attractions we would not have discovered on our own then drove us out into the countryside. We saw life outside the city, beautiful mountain vistas, and ate a sampler platter of different Puerto Rican dishes at a local, non-tourist restaurant. It was a great experience and Jerry was a friendly and gracious host.
Travel into the mountains of central Puerto Rico on this full-day, small-group tour. You are picked up at your San Juan hotel to board a 14-passenger, air-conditioned van, and along the way your guide shares an insider's perspective on the culture and history of the area. Stop to enjoy a typical Puerto Rican meal at a local restaurant; enjoy expansive vistas of the mountains from a high mountain viewpoint. You are returned to your hotel at the end of the tour.
Full-Day Yunque Rainforest and Luquillo Beach Adventure in San Juan
A trip worth taking!
, Feb 2020
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time on the tour. We Booked everything the day before and still were able to be accomodated. The weather was beautiful on the day of the trip so that was perfect, and the rain forest and beach were beautiful. Our host was Noel who was excellent. He took us to local places to get food and snacks. He made us feel comfortable, and we even gotto meet his family.
We enjoyed the history of the island and the rainforest he provided. He had a good sense of humor and he even jumped in the river to make some of the people on the tour feel comfortable when they were nervous. Noel's wife also took great photos for the group and sent them to us right away.
Only a few things we would say could be improved. Which are spending more time in the rain forest and the beach. Also adding a PA system in the Van's for better audio.
Overall the experience was amazing!
My husband and I booked very last minute for this full-day tour. It was late in the evening (the night before) but I called and someone answered! She was very friendly, answered all my questions and booked the tour. The next day I had a call from our wonderful tour-guide, Rupert. We arranged to meet and he was there as planned. He was just great, telling us all about Puerto Rico along the ride to El Yunque. He was friendly, warm and was a treasure trove of information. If you go, ask him to talk about the movies!! The tour of the rainforest was great and we ended the day with a visit to a lovely beach. Then he drove the ten of us back to San Juan. As if that wasn't enough - my husband left his phone in the van and Rupert came back to drop it off. He was wonderful. Great experience!
Combine two of Puerto Rico’s top attractions, Luquillo Beach and El Yunque Rainforest, into one great trip on this full-day excursion from San Juan. Enjoy the lush beauty of this tropical forest as you complete a series of short hikes to nearby waterfalls for wildlife viewing, sightseeing, and swimming. Finish the day with time to sunbathe and swim along one of the island’s more scenic stretches of sand.
My mom and I had an excellent time on this tour! San Juan can be very hot, so hopping back into the AC car regularly was really helpful... it was just the right mix of walking around and seeing things, a lot of cool history, and then time to relax at the Bacardi factory! I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Rafael our tour guide was great! He was bilingual English and Spanish we were the only ones on the tour me and my daughter and we enjoyed the tour he told us about the history of San Juan it was great!

Great tour guide
, Jan 2020
He met us at the ship and returned us to the ship. For only 3 hours in the city we got to see a lot of the highlights. Our guide was terrific. If you are not able to walk well, this is a great tour by a great host
Experience San Juan, Puerto Rico; one of the Americas’ oldest cities on a slow paced tour specialy oriented to having you create your own ever lasting momentos and capture pictures while discovering how us, fellow american citizens lived 400 years of struggles with Spain, how we have flourished after becoming part of USA and how you can help us stop inequality a d keep being considered an alien race and uncivilized by the territorial clauses of the 1930's wich still rule us as a Comonwealth of the USA.
Learn about the city’s history and must see buildings like San Cristobal and El Morro Forts, El Convento, Saint John's Cathedral and monuments like Ponce de Leon square and La Rogativa by the hand of our historians while driving it's narrow streets. After that visit new San Juan's main touristic areas of Condado where you will get to know historic landmarks and buildings in a relaxed and fun way.
Tour guide at the distillery was very knowledgeable and it was nice to start the day with a couple of drinks at the pavilion after the tour. Old Town tour was kind of a blur, a lot of information. I would like such a tour to have more of a walking component. It was sitting in the van most of the time.
Absorb some Puerto Rican culture (and some of the island’s legendary rum) during this half-day tour of Old San Juan and the Bacardi Distillery. Explore the origins of rum and the famous Bacardi family at one of the world’s best-known distilleries. After knocking back a refreshing rum cocktail, discover the atmospheric Old San Juan neighborhood, a national preservation site and home to a 500-year-old fortress. Your entrance fees, a rum cocktail, a driving tour of Old San Juan, and round-trip hotel transport are covered.
Everything was exactly as described. As I mentioned to the guide, the instructions suggested that we bring a bathing suit. We did, but there was no place to change. I suggested to him that people be advised to wear a bathing suit under your clothes if you wish to go in the river.
Benny was an amazing tour guide. Knowledgeable and he tailored the trip to us. The Rain forest was gorgeous, calming, and exactly what we wanted. Our entire trip to San Juan has been wonderful, but this was definitely the highlight. The waterfalls, the river, the food. We will treasure these memories.
The description that's provided is pretty much what you get - my girlfriend and I enjoyed it but nothing mind-blowing.
1. As noted, there's a lot of driving (especially due to traffic on the way back) and comparatively not a ton of time in the jungle itself.
2. The sites you do visit seem to be the main ones people see in the rainforest, and they're pretty cool and fun. Not much walking/hiking which was good for us.
3. Our tour guide Mario was both knowledgeable and friendly.
4. A few things nice things: we were picked up directly from our Airbnb in San Juan, we stopped at a visitor center and gift shop before driving to the rainforest itself, we each got a refrigerated bottle of water, we stopped at a nearby beach on the way back after the rainforest for lunch (not covered) which had a bunch of more lowkey street-food restaurants (the food was decent and quite cheap).
Overall, if you want a chill visit that's on the more lowkey side it's a solid option.

Angel gave us the personal touch and a day of wonder and nature. Cueva Ventana is a spectacular place. Cueva del Indio is breathtaking but can be physically challenging - make sure to talk to Angel about what you think you can do and he will customize your experience to your abilities.
Angel is an amazing human being. He knows a lot about Puerto Rico and its history which I really appreciated that.
He took me to cueva indio e ventana and during our ride he was explaining everything that I was asking him about. He gave me interesting tips about every single place.
I definitely will contact him again in my next trip to Puerto Rico.

Toro Verde 8 zipline plus the Beast FREE TRANSPORTATION & LUNCH
, Feb 2020
What an amazing experience! The first 8 zip lines were a good warm up. But since you’re with a group there is a lot of waiting around, which was a little disappointing. We were told that we would have enough time to do The Beast and The Monster, but because of the waiting around on the 8 zip lines we did t have time for both. We chose to do The Monster, which is the highest and longest. Highly recommend it! If you’re scared of heights you may not enjoy it.
The drive up from San Juan includes a VERY winding road up the mountain. Keep in mind if you get car sick easily.
We are definitely going back to the park in a few months.
This was the best experience ever. If you do one thing in Puerto Rico, this should be it! Our driver, Jerry, was very interesting and knowledgeable. He made the drive fly by and was very entertaining. The ziplines were amazing and the views were incredible!
Very nice service. Starting from the time they pick us up, until the time they drop us off.
They will keep you informed on any pick up delays. Our driver was very friendly, communicative and gave us a good and very well explained historic information from the Island and from the Site.
The zipline experience was awesome. We did All of them. Very well organized team they have.
The only thing We would complain is that when we bought the Monster tickets, the price included The Monster pictures which is not included anymore (according with site reception) .
Overall Excellent. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Every part of the day trip was fantastic!! The crew was amazing, they served a great lunch, great drinks & both stops were perfect!! I highly recommend!! We had a fun bunch of people on our boat, everyone was full of energy & having a good time. My first time snorkeling & it was intense & gorgeous! A memory I will never forget. Gonna try to come back & bring my sisters to experience it!
Culebra day trip was cancelled due to very strong of winds, making the crossing dangerous. But they were very accommodating switching us to the day trip to Icacos Private islands on a days notice. Had a great time, awesome snorkeling, fun captain and crew
Trip was fine but more importantly, I left my bikini on the boat and called the company NUMEROUS times but did not hear back. At all. Incredible. I cannot refer or trust a company that does not respond to their customers and help them with lost items (which I'm sure is a common occurrence).
Cruise by high-speed catamaran to Culebra from Fajardo for a fun-filled day trip snorkeling, beach combing and sunbathing on this island paradise. Spend your morning exploring the fascinating undersea creatures that populate the island’s coral reefs before enjoying a buffet lunch complete with rum punch and piña colada refreshments. Then take the afternoon to relax and swim on the area’s perfect sugar-sand beaches, including Playa Flamenco and nearby Culebrita. Your excursion also includes snorkel equipment and offers optional round-trip transportation from hotels in Old San Juan, Condado or Isla Verde.

Swim at La Parguera Bio Bay Boat Tour from San Juan
, Oct 2019
This is an amazing experience. I chose this particular excursion because I’m not active enough to kayak and was traveling with my mom who is 69. The crew was so helpful in getting us on and off the boat. They explained the biology behind the dinoflagellates and Steven, our driver, came along on the boat. He was great! This was very laid back, required no physical effort, and was superior to having to kayak. I’ve done that before and felt like I was going to be washed out to sea and panicked. We also stopped to eat and the food was great.
My girlfriend and I chose this tour because this is the one Bio Bay where you can go swimming, rather than just kayaking through the water. It did not disappoint. Being able to swim in the water made this experience. The bioluminescent microorganisms that create the light glow when you disturb them. You can do more of that swimming than with a kayak paddle.
Also, don't expect it to look like the pictures. Or to be able to take pictures, unless you're familiar with low-light photography techniques. It's not all about the pictures though. Enjoy the experience because it's pretty magical.
Our guide was also friendly and full of knowledge about Puerto Rico, the towns we drove through, and the Bio Bay. He made sure we had fun and were comfortable.
Enjoy a sunset cruise followed by an exploration of one of Puerto Rico’s bioluminescent bays during this full-day excursion from San Juan. Experience the glowing rays of the sun as they fade into the ocean. Then see a different type of glowing as you explore and swim in the bioluminescent waters near the town La Parguera.
Bioluminescent Bay Glass Bottom Kayak Tour from San Juan
Less than amazing
, Jan 2020
The best part of the excursion was kayaking in the dark (which is not saying much) The tour was disorganized and they don’t ensure everyone is accounted for. Our group was confused where to go and the kayak trip there and back was chaos. It was 90 minutes with about 20 min at the spot where they plankton light up. Total duration from door to door is approx 5.5 hours. Unless you really love plankton then I would suggest skipping this tour and using your time to do something else.
I had originally booked the combo tour of hiking in Yunque and then the kayak, but the hike was cancelled due to weather conditions. I was rebooked for the kayak tour the morning of. The communication from the team was great and the rescheduling was great. I was picked up on time and we traveled about an hour by bus to the spot. The guides were great to accommodate and get every situated.
I was a solo traveler and was paired up with a guide for the glass bottom boat. I wasn’t given a paddle, which at first was a bit disappointing, but ended up being great in the end. Not having to paddle allowed me to really experience the bioluminescent glow.
Manage your expectations - pictures online are prominent in colors and light due to the cameras. So if you go expecting that, you may be disappointed. The glass bottom looked like a million shooting stars. Once in the bay, they covered our kayaks with tarps to show the effects in true darkness. This was great and allowed the phenomenon to really shine (literally).
The last thing I would say is to understand your cost. You’re getting picked up from your hotel, on a bus for two hours round trip, and on the water for almost 2 hours in a private park. The price is spot on for what you get.
I wish the hike would have happened, but was thankful I got to experience this at a minimum. Highly recommend if you’re going to see it once in your life.
Join a nighttime adventure into the waters of Laguna Grande as you visit the area’s amazing bioluminescent bay during this half-day excursion. Hop aboard a clear-bottomed kayak as you paddle through the dense mangrove forests, heading to the area where the microscopic plankton puts on its surreal aquatic light show when you glide through the water. Your professional guide also tells you more about this fragile ecosystem and how visitors can help protect it.
