Francisco was fantastic. Very informative tour. He picked us up at the cruise port and we spent 3 or 3 1/2 hours touring the city. We were all very tired from traveling but he kept us entertained! I would highly recommend this tour. I wish we had another couple of days to explore all the wonderful areas he showed us.
We booked a private tour with viator.. We got Tony for our Driving tour guide.. He was excellent with the information he shared with us & places he showed us.. You can tell he is very proud of his history on San Juan Puerto Rico.. Traffic was really bad at times so we didn’t get to see but so much & it was raining so getting out was not always an option at times.. but overall it was a great tour & Tony was an awesome guide & very informative of the islands history..

A Great Day on our Taino Petroglyph Tour in Puerto Rico
, Feb 2020
We had a great tour day with Javier, the Archeologist conducting this tour. We were picked up and dropped off at our lodging in Old San Juan, and made 3 stops to view Petroglyphs. It was great to have this tour for only our group, which consisted of myself and my husband, and our adult daughter. Our first stop was a cave tour at Cueva Ventana. While this tour was led by a guide, Javier accompanied us on the tour and pointed out things that the guide did not show the group. The cave included an amazing window view, but also bats and was dimly lit due to the sleeping bats. The "window" view area was bright. For our 2nd stop, Javier offered an alternate to his normal stop, due to recent rains and the mud from the rain. We visited a Taino cultural area where games were most likely conducted, and possibly other ceremonial uses. Many petroglyphs were evident and we learned how some of the stones were aligned for the equinox. Our final stop included a boardwalk trail to a river to view more petroglyphs. We are interested in these, and have visited petroglyph sites in other places. This was our first formal tour to view them, and the insights provided were very interesting. We would highly recommend this tour to others. Having this as a private tour allowed the day to be personalized to our interests.
