Favela Tour Rocinha and Vila Canoas - Rio de Janeiro
Don’t miss a Favela Tour when in Rio!
, Jan 2020
This is a must do tour of Rio! See how a favela or shantytown operates. Barbara was our tour guide and she was great. She took us thru Vila Canoas first, a small favela where we walked through and within. We made a stop at the school where part of the tour fee gets donated to. Then we went to Rocinha, a large favela and walked the main shopping street and district. We stopped for a beautiful view of Rio on our way down the hill and had a chance to buy some merchandise from a few shops run by the locals. Barbara our guide answered any questions and provided lots of interesting facts. The tour is somewhat physically rigorous having to climb up and down steps and uneven pavements. We also did a mini tour of the areas as we drove through to the favelas. We were picked up and dropped back at our hotel also. If you go to Rio, this tour is one you shouldn’t miss...It’s a major contrast to the beautiful beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema too.

He speaks perfect English, was very attentive to our needs. He took us to the most interesting sights in the city. This was a great day!

4 of us scheduled a 4-hour tour of Sao Paulo with an English speaking guide (who also drove us in his SUV). Enrico was right on time when he picked us up at our hotel and was also helpful in loading/managing our luggage. We were on our way to the airport at the conclusion of the tour.
We were very happy with the information he shared and how he worked in all the interests of each person on our group. I would certainly do this again in another city if the guide were as good as Enrico!

5-hour Standard São Paulo "Private Tour" (Also GRU Airport Pick-up)
From $128.21 (Price varies by group size )
, Dec 2019
We had a 9 hour layover in Sao Paulo so we booked this to experience the city since GRU airport is outside the city center. Our tour guide Danilo was an amazing and passionate tour guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Sao Paulo and Brazil. He was able to answer all of our questions and we learned a lot about the history of Brazil. He took us to multiple spots to experience Sao Paulo like a local. For example he took us to a local flea market to try the sugar cane juice and pastel. He then took us to all of the hot spots around the city. I would highly recommend this tour.
Very much enjoyed our day trip with Rocco. He was super knowledgable about the city, it's history, and brought a sense of passion to the day. He was very accommodating of our time and consideration of local recommendations by friends. I would do it again. Thanks Rocco!

Excellent tour for a first time visitor. Joseph our tour guide was friendly, professional and very passionate about his city and country. Would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the largest city in Brazil.
If you want to see highlights of São Paulo than look no further. The city is massive and would take me 1-2 days easily to get around and see the spots we did. We did it in 4 hours. There is a lot of traffic so we had to go slowly to each of the spots but that was fine as got to see and feel more of the city! The spots were interesting with my highlight the cathedral. Our guide was superb. Very knowledgeable and passionate.
My only improvement for feedback would be to communicate more to set a time for pick up in advance so people feel comfortable (I had to chase for this and was told only day before late afternoon). I was in transit on plane so couldn’t plan accordingly. Small thing but could be improved.
I would recommend this tour for those short on time but curious to get the highlights of São Paulo.

How about practicing photography while enjoying life, making new friends and visually discovering Paulista? Experiencing an environment of freedom, autonomy, and connection \o/
The experience has 3 moments:
We start with a chat about photography for 1h in a coffee shop. In it, we will talk about my life story (a big life change) both verbally and through photographs to explore the meanings of photographs. We'll look at printed photos, a book (made by our local photowalk community which printed copies are not publicly available), etc. The conversation sets the mood of the photowalk and connects the group.
Afterwards, we will photowalk through Paulista Avenue with some special places included that were discussed during our initial chat (Fri/Sat/Sun: we have special authorization to photograph the Conjunto Nacional building*).
We will end our photowalk with a special and personalized surprise for each participant. Just this surprise is worth the ticket value ;).
