Opened in 1998, Happy Valley Shenzhen is a 350,000 square meter theme park in China’s Nanshan District. The park consists of nine themed areas, including Spanish Plaza, Cartoon City, Adventure Mountain, Gold Mine Town, Shangrila Woods, Sunshine Coast, Hurricane Bay, Maya Water Park, and Happy Times – with its unique 4D movie experience.
There are more than 100 rides and attractions within Happy Valley Shenzhen, including Shooting the Chute, which has the highest fall in the world, Xueshan Fei Long, the first suspended roller coaster in China, and the Space Shuttle, which is the first "screaming tower" in China and the highest in Asia.
The Maya Water Park is hugely popular, and is the only park in Asia to be awarded World Waterpark Association status. It’s open from May to October, and is based around the theme of Mayan civilization, featuring various buildings and monuments built in the typical Mayan architectural style.
To reach Happy Valley Shenzhen, take Line 1 of the metro to the “Window of the World" (Shijie Zhichuang) stop and leave from Exit A. From here, the entrance to the park is just a few minutes’ walk. (This station can also be reached via bus 327 from the airport and several public buses from downtown Shenzhen.)
