Kent & East Sussex Railway Tours

There are few more atmospheric ways to take in the English countryside, than riding on an authentic early 20th-century steam or heritage diesel train and the Kent & East Sussex Railway is among the best in the country. Winding its way from Tenterden to Bodiam, the 10.5-mile journey takes around an hour, passing through the scenic Rother Valley and stopping at the villages of Rolvenden, Wittersham and Northiam along the way.

The most popular way to ride the Kent & East Sussex Railway is with a roamer ticket, allowing travelers to hop on and off at any station along the way, so you can disembark to look out over the loco yard at Rolvenden or tour Bodiam Castle, a striking National Trust property. Additional events are held on the railway too, including a Santa train during the holidays, special Thomas the Tank Engine trains for children and Railway Experience days when passengers can learn how to drive a steam train.
