One of the most beautiful islands in Hat Jao Mai Marine National Park, Koh Kradan boasts everything you could want from a tropical paradise: sugar soft beaches, warm and calm waters, dramatic limestone karst formations and low-tide sandbars that make for excellent beach walking.
The best beach for swimming lines the east coast of the island, but a short trek through the inland jungle leads to Sunset Beach, a more rocky stretch of shore perfect for — you guessed it — watching a sunset. While snorkeling is possible from the beaches of Koh Kradan, the offshore reef has seen its fair share of damage and has mostly gone dormant.
Koh Kradan is also famous for its annual underwater wedding ceremonies, which take place around Valentine’s Day. Each year multiple couples don scuba gear and tie the knot beneath the surface.
During the rainy season (May to October) many of the facilities on Koh Kradan close down. Be sure to make reservations well ahead of time during the busy dry season.
