Ethnographic Museum Tours

This small museum founded in 1910 has limited collections of Dalmatian folk costumes, embroidery, jewelry and weapons, but its setting in Diocletian's former apartment in the south part of the palace adds an extra dimension to the displays. The museum guards the entrance to the top of the Vestibul, through a stone staircase, offering spectacular views of Split’s old town and of the Adriatic.

The museum also houses the church of St Andrew de Fenestris and the former convent of St Clare. Of special note are the collection of chests that were used for storing valuables and the collection of 20th-century art, from mostly Split artists.
