This was a special day made all the more so by the wonderful guide we had, who made the whole day such a wonderful experience. .It was interesting to see the contrast between the two palaces. Pavlovsk being so much more modest than Catherine Palace yet so elegant.. It was a great insight into another side of the Russian rulers lives. The scenery was lovely and the parkland beautiful. The drive was comfortable and the driver courteous. Lida made the day so enjoyable whilst at the same time passing on so much information. It was a pleasure to learn from such an accomplished and knowledgeable young guide.Recommend this tour. to all.. Patsy Jemison

This was a bit more pricey than your average tour, but we felt it was well worth it. We travelled there by limo with a driver and guide. Roman was a fabulous guide so knowledgeable about absolutely everything and quite charming. He also enabled us to skip the lines not just outside but in numerous places inside.
Catherine Palace is quite stunning. Room after room leaves you gasping and drooling, culminating in the famous Amber Room, which absolutely lives up to its hype. The grounds are also worth a visit in their own right.
For not much more we added the Pavlovsky Palace, which I'd recommend everyone to do. Again stunning room after stunning room, but quite different from Catherine Palace.
A truly memorable day.

Journey to Pushkin, Catherine Palace and Pavlovsk was excellent. My guide picked me up punctually in my hotel. She was very polite, with broad knowledge about history and art. She organized these trips perfectly. And for the driver I have only the best words. He waited for us without losing his temper in front of palaces. I strongly recommend the journeys arranged by Viator.

We found the tour to be good and very interesting. The guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. The driver drove safely and dropped us off at convenient locations. It would have been better to do Pavlovsk Palace last so more time was spent at the Catherine Palace.

Excellent driver and car,I appreciated punctuality, beautiful palaces,but...that's all to be pleased about.
First of all,5 hours are not enough to visit propperly these places, taking photos and getting explanations. Our young(too young!) guide gave the impression that she didn't know very well how to deal with the situation,we didn't miss any queue, even we should have had some kind of priority, and the top of the top was that she practically forced us to leave bags and cameras at the lockers at Caterina's palace. We consider ourselves civilized persons,so we didn't argue, but inside seeing all those people carrying huge bags and taking photos from all over the place, and I saw myself taking photos with my Iphone instead of my pro camera,I felt extremely angry and frustrated.I asked her to help get my things and she didn't seem to care at all.
One extra hour for Pavlovsk is deffinetely not enough, this trip is badly organized from this point of view anyway and with this young girl things got out of control even more.We saw less than half of the interiors and she said that tour was over,so at that point we all got very upset. After all,it was not a cheap tour and we had the right to see all that we had paid for.
The palaces are nice, the famous amber room is...I don't know, different from what I expected it to be; Pavlovsk is nicer than Caterina's palace from my point of view and we were so close not to see it...It would have been such a pity.
I don't think I would recommand this tour the way we 4 did it.
