One of Sydney's most famous walks is from The Spit to Manly. You will traverse many bays, headlands and beaches on your way from the beautiful Clontarf Beach to the Manly Harbour beach via Grotto Point Reserve, Fairlight and Esplande Park. The day we enjoyed this walk we even saw several lizards, lots of birds, some Aborigine rock carvings, endless views and some interesting architecture too! Once in the famous town of Manly you can enjoy some refreshment prior to returning via the harbour walk, through the suburbs of Balgowlah Heights and Clontarf or via a bus or taxi if you've had enough! We elected the suburban return by foot and met up with some big hills and one giant staircase, so beware! If you have a day to spend in Sydney, it's hard to beat this scenic and healthy walk. Go for it!
