ZOORI (Zoo at Residence Inn)
Travelers overwhelmingly visit ZOORI as part of their Tagaytay vacation, typically alongside other Tagaytay Ridge attractions such as the People’s Park in the Sky. Tickets are moderately priced, with discounts for children between 3 and 4 feet tall (92–122 centimeters tall). (Littler kids get in free.) There are extra charges for activities including horse rides, bike rides, sidecar rides, the cable car, and the zipline. You can also buy food for animals and birds.
Things to Know Before You Go
ZOORI is a good option for families visiting the Tagaytay area.
Kids will enjoy the chance to feed the exotic birds and the animals.
ZOORI is not wheelchair-accessible.
How to Get There
ZOORI forms part of the Residence Inn on the Tagaytay Ridge, above Lake Taal, in Tagaytay, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) south of downtown Manila. If you’re staying in Tagaytay, flag down one of the jeepneys that run along the ridge road, and ask to get off at Residence Inn. To travel from Manila as a day trip, hire a driver.
When to Get There
ZOORI is open from early morning until late afternoon seven days a week, with three daily animal shows on Saturday and Sunday. Tagaytay is a popular weekend destination for Manilans, so it’s best to visit during the working week.
The Zipline at ZOORI
Tagaytay’s star attraction is the Taal Volcano, a volcano in the middle of a crater lake, complete with its own crater lake. Thrill seekers will enjoy the chance to ride a zipline, suspended facedown in a Superman pose, from the Tagaytay Ridge. The views over the forested landscape to the lake and volcano are epic, while parallel ziplines mean couples can ride side by side.
