This tour is a must for first time visitors to Taipei. The only downside was the tour guide was not fluent in English so a lot of the history was lost in translation. The pick up was also late which is a first for us because in our other tours, the guide or bus will be at the pick up point earlier. We made sure to be at the meeting place 10 minutes early. As we were the first to be picked up, there was no excuse for the tardiness.
We were literally on the run from the start of tour to the end of tour, 5 min here, 10 min there, etc. Tour guide was busy translating 2 languages back and forth. It was good coverage but a little hectic for everyone, including the guide. It would be better to extend 1-2 hours even with increased price so everyone can enjoy and comprehend what they’re seeing instead of just taking pictures and running to the next attraction.
Spend a morning or afternoon exploring Taipei’s urban and historic highlights on this half-day sightseeing tour. Your savvy guide escorts you to key attractions such as Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, Martyrs's Shrine, and the National Palace Museum. Hear interesting commentary as you wind through vibrant neighborhoods and see examples of Ming Dynasty architecture. Admission tickets and round-trip transfers from downtown Taipei hotels are included.
Jack was a wonderful guide. He was flexible with our flight delay and taught us many cultural tidbits. He was very kind and made sure we were safe and comfortable. I would recommend this tour to other!
Our tour guide Jack was fantastic. Realised what we wanted and gave us a great tour. He was very friendly and spoke and understood English very well. The dumplings at Taipei 101 was a definite highlight. I would definitely recommend him. Thank you Jack!

The night tour was brief but educational. It could have included an appetizer or a sample from the street food along the way. Din Tai Fung at 101 is a delight. It’s good we took this tour because the waiting time for Dinner is about an hour at a good time.
Discover the bustling city of Taipei as it starts to come alive during this evening tour. This was such a great tour, it definitely packs the key places in an ultimate day tour. Even, when I told my local colleagues about the tour they said that I saw all the must-see places, so I feel like I really got to learn about history and present day Taipei. The tour guide (Kylie) was awesome, very friendly, super knowledgeable and made the tour that much better. If you want to hit the highlights but only have a short amount of time, take this tour! They make it easy to see everything!

5-Hour Thousand Island Lake and Pinglin Tea Plantation Scenery Tour
Relaxing with Views
, Jan 2020
The guide was wonderful, and she translated in multiple languages. Showed us various views of the beautiful countryside and along the river. Tasted multiple teas, also make sure you have cash when buying smaller shops don't use cards. We saw the suspension bridge. Had good conversation and a relaxing time. Good idea for family, couple's, and solo travelers.
Taipei is renowned for its futuristic skyscrapers and modern shopping malls, but few visitors get to discover the natural wonders just outside the city. This tour visits the beautiful Thousand Island Lake and includes a tour of the Pinglin Tea Museum and the Bagua Tea Garden. Hotel pickup and drop-off is included.
Our tour guide Roger picked us up from the dock in Keelung on time, after leaving several messages to ensure that we meet up. Roger was a superb tour guide throughout the day he drove us around Taipei to all the important sites that we had in mind to see such as the Bao Temple, Confucius Temple and the Chiang Kai Chek Memorial among many other sites within the city. One of the highlights was a fantastic lunch of local food.
Recommend this tour highly if you have only one day to spend in Taipei (such as a cruise stop)
Explore Taipei at your own pace, and get around town seamlessly, with a private, half-day chartered car service. Make the most of a brief layover, transfer to your hotel, indulge in a bit of sightseeing, and more: the vehicle is fully at your disposal, and your destination is up to you.
This was a great day tour. I saw so much in the day. All the major sights were covered and lunch was on a great food street and was delicious!! My guide really looked after me. Definitely worth the money!
Jimmy our guide was prompt, flexible, gratuitous and very helpful and accommodating. By choice we traveled north to see the Oceanside, waterfalls, cat village and a coal town, but still had time for traditional sites in Taipei. Great trip and host...highly recommend Jimmy and this full day tour. Thanks
With just one day to take in the treasures of Taipei, a private tour means you can maximize your time with a custom-made itinerary. Perhaps admire landmarks such as Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, the Martyr's Shrine, and the Dalongdong Baoan Temple; enjoy the views from the Taipei 101 skyscraper; or discover the best places to eat or shop in the city.
Our tour guide Hicks picked us up from the cruise terminal in Keelung on time with his private car. The tour of northern Taiwan was excellent and comprehensive. Definitely worth the money if you have only one day to spend in Taiwan.
Very knowledgeable about the history of Taiwan and patiently walked with us to point out all detailed below information of the
Northern Coast of Taiwan. Will definitely recommend to our friends and families. Will use this service for our travel. Thank you Sam and Viator.
Eddie arrived 5 minutes early, found me straight away and brought his car around to pick me up. It was immaculate. I had a very enjoyable day with Eddie, chatting away, and he also provided a lot of information about the sites we visited. Adjusted the itinerary to suit me. Very good English spoken and a very helpful gentleman. Returned to airport on time.

4-Day Tour of Central and Southern Taiwan from Taipei Including Kaohsiung and Sun Moon Lake
Pricey for what its worth
, Dec 2019
It wasn't much of a guided tour with a fun guide or fun facts, it's more of a personal driver type of trip where it's quiet during the drive. When we got to the destination, most of the time was for exploring on your own, which was fine for me but not very exciting otherwise. The first van and hotel to sun moon lake was very nice but the metro and van in Kaohshiung was not very nice. I traveled solo so the personal van escort and hotel was kinda worth it for me but otherwise I don't think it was worth the money, almost seven hundred for four days. Also the Kaohshiung guide had very bad time management. We were suppose to go to three destinations on the last day and spent forever at the first two places never mentioning we were short on time and towards the end I didn't get to have lunch and literally spent two minutes at the last place and barely made it to the hsr station. The call center was very supportive otherwise I would've given them less ratings.
Discover the scenic highlights and hidden wonders of central and southern Taiwan on this 4-day tour from Taipei. Explore the region by comfortable coach with insightful commentary on board, and step off for guided walking tours along the way. Visit the town of Puli, Sun Moon Lake, Kenting National Park, Kaohsiung and the historic town of Lukang, including impressive temples, pagodas, and pavilions. Includes three nights’ accommodation with daily breakfasts, plus round-trip transport.
Taiwan's Northeast Coast National Scenic Area is one of the country's most beautiful and best reputed; discover why on this day trip to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Shifen from Taipei. Travel with a guide and a small group of eight people or fewer to see the striking natural and cultural attractions of the region, including distinctive rock formations, waterfalls, and historical alleys lined with contemporary street food. This tour includes guided commentary (choose between Mandarin or English) and round-trip transportation from Taipei.
5-Day Best of Taiwan: Sun Moon Lake, Taroko Gorge, Kaohsiung, Taitung
Fantastic 5-Day Tour Across Taiwan! Alan Chou is a Master!
, Jan 2020
Incredible! At first, I was a little hesitant to book this tour, however upon reading the reviews I became curious. Everything about this 5-Day Tour across Taiwan is world-class. The itinerary is very well organized, with a great variety of interesting stops along the way. All the hotels are five star and very nice. However, the tour guide, Alan Chou, really makes the tour special! He is engaging, funny, and extremely knowledgeable! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that is seeking an exciting adventure throughout Taiwan. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
We did the same tour almost five years ago, Allan Chou the best tour guide ever! Went over and above as a guide and ran everything seemlesly and like clock work this is not a follow the guide tour. You get loads of info and then good amount of time to explore. Even organised a left item to be forwarded ahead to Taipei hotel before we got back from the trip. One word! Awesome...
We have visited many beautiful scenic areas, a famous monastery, few temples, night markets and National Parks in Taiwan. All hotels we stayed in were excellence. In addition, we were lucky to have a humorous, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide Alan Chou. That made our trip extra wonderful.
Visit the numerous temples, shrines, hot springs and national parks of Taiwan on this 5-day tour around the entire island. Leave bustling Taipei behind for the remote beaches and rocky coastal scenery of Sun Moon Lake, Taroko Gorge, Kenting National Park, and the East Coast National Scenic Area. Your guide provides insightful commentary on sites such as Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Wenwu Temple, Holy Monk Shrine, and Tse-En Pagoda.

Excellent Street Food Tour
, Jan 2020
Excellent and informative Guide. Perfect English spoken We were a group of 4 and could not have been happier and really enjoyed the tour. Our guide went out of her way to ensure we had a good time and was very considerate of our wishes.
Our tour guide, Cola, was great! She made sure we just don’t go with the flow of the tour. She made sure we experience what the locals experience. Everything was authentic & genuine! The food choices were great! Cola also helped us with some of our possible concerns for the remainder of our stay in Taipei. Great job!
This experience was a birthday gift for my girlfriend as we traveled to Taipei for a long weekend and it surely didn't disappoint.
Other than the fact than Taipei's local food is amazing, our guide (Jones) was outstanding. We tried many local foods which were improved by his explanations. Thanks to him we also saw the change of guard at the Chiang Kai Shek memorial, which we would have missed if it wasn't for him. We highly recommend the experience with Jones as a guide.
Taipei is renowned for its delicious variety of street food and regional specialties. On this walking tour, numbers are kept to a maximum of 8 people, ensuring that you get the most out of your guide. Explore the atmospheric Zhongzheng District, visit Dongmen Market, and sample a wide selection of Taiwanese dishes, with your guide on-hand to explain the ingredients and translate any food preferences.
It was a great 3-hour tour with 7 dishes which you could only experience in Taipei. Pei, the tour host for the little group-a Korean and an American- was knowledgeable for Taiwan, Taiwanese culture and food. This tour is a must for any tourists to want to experience Taipei food or Yongkang street. Thanks to this tour, I was too full to have dinner.
The food tour was great. A real highlight. Not only do you get to wonder the streets in an area you may not ordinarily do so you get to understand part of the food culture and heritage. The food was great and the tour also catered well to one of us who was vegetarian.
Definitely worth doing.
My husband and I joined the tour with 4 other people, and we had a blast! Our guides Lo and Joyce were excellent; they were not only knowledgeable about local Taiwanese food, but also about the history of the city itself. All the food we tried was fantastic, and we'd definitely recommend this tour to anybody interested in trying local favorites!
Immerse yourself in Taipei’s vibrant food scene on this delectable walking tour. Venture to Yongkang Street—the city’s primary gastronomic hub—and explore with just a small group for company. Be sure to come hungry: over the course of several hours, you’ll visit numerous eateries and vendors, will sample local specialties ranging from shaved ice and dumplings to scallion pancakes, and will learn more about the city’s culinary heritage.

Wishes and Waterfalls
, Feb 2020
I really enjoyed this Sunday tour! The North Coast is really worth seeing and this tour took me to the main places to visit. I particularly enjoyed writing messages on my own sky lantern and the visit to the Shuifen Waterfall. It was a long busy day and I was very thankful that They accommodated my wish to be taken to the airport at the end of the day.
The tour was alright and satisfactory..Highlight of the tour was the Sky Lantern and we loved the experience from it just in time for CNY..A little bit disappointing though, because we expect a 5-6seaters prívate SUV and not a Taxi type..Nevertheless,the disappointment turned to contentment all because Tourguide/driver ANDY is Exceptional, very welcoming, friendly and full of knowledge to our queries, he took care of us well.He can talk anything from the sun and entertaining never a dull moment with him..Highly recommended.

From our port in Keelung, we had planned on visiting Taipei, but the rainy, cool weather changed our plans. We had planned to see Taipei 101 but we would told that the view would be disappointing, and the crowds/traffic would not be the best of our limited stay in this country. Our tour guide, Crystal, recommended that we visit other sites in Taiwan to maximize our cultural experience during our visit. She offered ponchos to everyone to help with the wet weather, and luckily we bought our umbellas too. Our stops included Yehlui Geo Park, where we saw various natural rock formations. We also visited PingXi, a small town with a railway down its main street and released a sky lantern. A cultural highlight was going to Chuifen and trying out the local street food in its market, Crystal was very knowledgable about the different foods and auggested which ones to try. She took lots of pictures. On the way back to the ship, we stopped at a buddha temple in Keelung. Overall, it was not we had planned but it was still a great experience for our group. I would recommend this tour company but temper your expectations based on the weather.
Caleb was both knowledgeable and generous in sharing history and culture of the locations we visited. We talked at the outset about our interests and he incorporated all of those into the day trip. Wonderful English speaker , great sense of humour and someone who made our tour of Taipei memorable .
If you only have one day in port in Keelung, maximize your time with a private full-day tour of Taipei and a custom-made itinerary tailor-made for you. Choose to visit the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Dihua Old Street, or Dalongdong Baoan temple; take in the views from the Taipei 101 tower or the Elephant Mountain Trail; or browse the exhibits at the National Palace Museum.
A full day including flight, tour, and lunch. The tour guide picked us up at the airport and was wonderful. He took us to all the high points of the Taroko area. Lunch was traditional Taiwanese and delicious. In the evening, the night market and he gave us great suggestions for food. Well worth the money we spent for this tour! Taroko is beautiful!
Where to start. We were a little nervous about the tour because the flight hadn't been booked by us but rather the company had done it so we didn't receive the details unti 48-36 hours before the flight, but no worries there because they were amazing with the correspondance. We could send an email and have a reply almost instantaneously which was a great relief. Moving on to the tour itself... We were so so so lucky to have Chester as our tour giude, he knew everything there could be to know about Hualien and lovely sonnets and songs to accompany all the information. After the smooth transition from the plane to the groud, Chester came and picked up our trio of travellers and proceeded to show us the wonderous sights that Hualien had to offer including a few hidden gems before we reached Taroko Gorge. Once we arrived we were greeted with one of the most breath taking views the world has to offer, it's astounding and overwhelming all at the same time. Chester went above and beyond his duties as a tour guide and showed us almost every secret this Groge had to offer! He knew every trail and had planned the tour so well that we even managed to sneak in a few extra trails that are normally not even on the itinerary. Honestly i cannot even begin to express how amazing this experience is, if we could go back and do this tour 10. 20 or even 100 times over we would. We unfortunately did not have enough time to explore the district of Hualien for longer than a single day which is why this tour worked out so perfect for us. From the bottom of our hearts we'd like to thank Chester for showing us a wonderful day in Hualien all whilst on limited time and would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Taiwan to its fullest. This tour really is not something you should miss.
This day tour to Taroko Gorge is ideal for anyone short on time. Fly straight to Hualien, round-trip from Taipei, and get whisked away to Taroko National Park for a guided tour. Explore the precipitous Qingshui Cliff, hike along the Shakadang Lushui trails, and visit Swallow Grotto, Buluowan, and the Dongdamen Night Market.
The sandy beaches, seaside towns, and natural wonders of Taiwan’s North Coast lie just a short drive from Taipei. On this private tour, take in all the highlights in just one day, including the unique landscapes of the Yehliu Geopark to see unique rock formations; the Laomei Green Reef (if traveling during off-season visitors go to Elephant Trunk Rock instead); see familiar scenes from "Spirited Away" traveling through Jiufen; and release your wishes into the sky at Pingxi.
The tour was amazing! Got to see a lot of beautiful and scenic views, especially the hillside/water view from Amei teahouse. We had a great time building our own sky lantern and walking down Shifen Old Street. Our tour host Michael was very knowledgeable and reliable, all the tips he gave us and the food he recommended were great. Would highly recommend this tour!
