SELINUNTE is one of the most evocative places in Sicily, also one of the most impressive of all Greek sites, never having been built over in modern times. In the 5th Century BC it was second only to Syracuse. The archeological site includes several temples, part of the ancient city, amazing ruins more than 2600 years old and a beautiful landscape. SEGESTA, according to the traditional legend, had a Trojan origin. It is located on the isolated hill called Barbaro, which offers a great panorama. The well preserved temple and the greek theater were built in the late 5th century BC open onto a breathtaking panorama.
Exclusive itinerary to discover sites that will take you back in time. The Segesta Archaeological Park is one of the best maintained in Western Sicily; Erice is a beautiful medieval village with a unique atmosphere.
Western Sicily holds its own against the fashionable destinations of the east coast—Agrigento, Etna, and Catania—but with fewer public transportation options. This tour takes you to off the beaten track gems while saving you the trouble of planning bus rides or car rentals. You’ll take a ferry to the island-ruins of a Phoenician colony, visit a Satyr Museum, and taste Marsala wine. Please note that the price of the ferry to Mothia and the admission ticket to the Satyr Museum is not included in the price of this tour.
The UNESCO–listed cities of Palermo and Monreale are widely considered the jewels in Sicily’s crown, with baroque and Norman architecture, and a history dating back nearly 3,000 years. With this private round-trip transfer service from Trapani, reach both cities by air-conditioned minivan and see the best of Sicily in one day. Discover top attractions including the 12th-century Monreale Cathedral, with free time to explore the streets and markets at your leisure.
Departure from Trapani by minivan 8 seats. Visit the town of Erice with stops at the most important points, free time to relax and souvenir photos. Erice has a breathtaking view across the Sicilian coast. You can visit all year long and is famous for its medieval villages and ancient traditions.
Western Sicily has attractions of the caliber of those on the eastern coast, but they are often less accessible by public transportation. Instead of renting a car and dealing with the hassle of driving in Italy, let someone else take you to Segesta and Selinunte—two of Sicily’s less-known, but no less beautiful archeological ruins located nearly on separate coasts, and roughly an hour apart by car.
What makes WindBusters unique is being the only "itinerant" type of kite school in Sicily, that is, moving in a constant search for the wind.
With WindBusters you will never get bored because it will always be where the wind is blowing, but even if you don't find it (it can happen) we will always provide you with interesting activities and alternative experiences.
