How to Spend 3 Days in Valencia
In a country full of fun-loving cities, Valencia goes that extra mile. Cultural attractions and beach-bumming during the day, followed by paella feasts and all-night partying, one thing’s for sure: your time here will be unforgettable.

Day 1: Get Your Bearings
With such a fabulous climate, Valencia is tailor-made for exploring on foot. Most major attractions are an easy stroll from each other: don’t miss the Opera House, the magnificent cathedral (where you can view the ancient chalice said to be the Holy Grail) and the historic 13th century Torres de Serranos. Your afternoon will fly by at the futuristic architectural landmark, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, home to Europe’s largest aquarium, the Oceanogràfic.

Day 2: Hit the Beach
Time to work on your Mediterranean tan! But which beach to choose? Not far from town, the clean, pretty beaches of former fishing districts La Malvarrosa and El Cabañal are worth a visit; further afield, sand dunes, pine groves and market gardens share the gorgeous coastline with irresistible playas such as Saler and Devesa. Water sports are popular in these parts, and it’s often possible to hire equipment. Rested and refreshed, you’ll be primed for a dose of Valencia’s nightlife upon your return.

Day 3: Cava and Celebrations
After last night’s festivities, you probably need some hair of the dog! Lucky for you, Valencia province is famed for its cava (Spanish champagne) and wine. Head to the Utiel and Requena areas, where you can take a tour of a popular winery, visit cava tunnels and sample the local drop. Around in late August? The crazy, messy madness of La Tomatina in nearby Buñol is like no festival you’ve ever experienced. Indeed, the same could be said of Valencia’s wild, fire-cracking spring spectacular, Las Fallas.
