Valencian Paella Class and Tapas + Visit Ruzafa Market
So much fun!!
, Jan 2020
I highly recommend this excursion. We had a wonderful tour of a local market and learned about the proper ingredients that are used in Spanish cooking. Once back in the kitchen, our whole group was able to contribute to the cooking experience (despite the fact that we were a large group). The guide and instructor were so kind and informative and really made us feel like we were cooking with family. Next time I am in Valencia with other friends/family, I will definitely go back to "My First Paella" so I can share the experience with others!
Thank you Marie and Jordi for an entertaining, fun and delicious day of cooking, chatting, laughing and eating. It was great to visit the market and meet the local businesses. Our hosts were entertaining and flexible and good fun! The paella was outstanding and the whole experience exceeded our expectations for our family of 5. Thank you!!!
Well actually there are at least two types of Paella according to the chefs at My First Paella: seafood and meat. Paella of course originated as largely a peasant dish of rice and a protein with whatever embellishments the cook prided as their special touch. Nonetheless if you have never made Paella, or if you want a very Venetian touch this is the class for you. We start with a tour of the local street market with only the freshest meats, vegetables and fish. Then it’s to the classroom with Mary our hostess and our two chefs. Everyone has a load of fun while receiving some terribly worthwhile tips on cooking the dish. There is potato omelettes, cheese and classic ham with plenty of sangria. You won’t regret the visit.
Familiarize yourself with a more authentic side to Spain during this enjoyable paella cooking class. Browse the local markets alongside native chefs, as they share stories of the district you wouldn’t hear if exploring independently. Then, learn to make a number of rice dishes, including Valencian paella, before enjoying the fruits of your labor accompanied by wine, sangria, and more.
Get a taste of authentic Spanish culture during this Paella cooking class in Valencia, the birthplace of the famous rice dish. Shop for ingredients at the Central Market alongside your guide and group, and then head to the kitchen to learn how to turn simple ingredients into a delicious meal with deep cultural roots. This tour includes all instruction, ingredients, food, and drinks during the class.
Old Town Tour with Wine & Tapas in 11th Century Historic Monument
, Dec 2019
The tour was short and sweet and the information given was interesting and relevant. Nick, our tour guide, was really great! The food was really tasty and traditional and the wines were very nice. All in all excellent tour!
Calling all lovers of Spanish culture and cuisine, this half-day Valencia walking tour showcases the city’s cultural delights and delectable bites. Alongside your guide, explore Valencia’s Old Town, and tick off highlights such as the Central Market (Mercado Central), town squares, and the Church of San Nicolas. Then feast on a 10-course tapas tasting featuring regional wines. Enjoy an intimate atmosphere on this small-group tour, limited to 16 food lovers.
I highly recommend booking this wine tour with the Grape Escape, as it was the highlight of my vacation in Valencia. Melanie is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who made our day experiencing regional wines, at very good wineries, pure enjoyment. We felt like we were wine tasting with a guide who was our longtime friend. I must note that Melanie went out of her way for us to take this tour because we were in Valencia only for an extended weekend and the date was not initially available. I’m thankful she was able to clear her schedule for us, as a rare exception.
Lovely day spent in the wine region surrounding Valencia
, Nov 2019
What a lovely tour. Melanie was absolutely amazing and super accommodating. She even borrowed a car seat for my 6 month old daughter so that we could safely get to our destination. The organic vineyard that we visited had several wines and liqueurs to offer which was nice. Lunch was at a family owned restaurant in the countryside with authentic cuisine. Food was delicious.
I would definitely recommend this tour for families with small children as Melanie is flexible and will even hold your child while you taste the wine!
Loved every bit of the tour. I believe the tour operator has various choices in terms of the vineyards she picks for groups based on the size. to take the group for a tour. We were tow that day and hence went to this cozy little wine processing facility with cool caves in the basement. The highlight of the tour was the olive oil facility we visited. The restaurant we ate lunch had a local charm and la home cooked meal. In all a great tour.
The Grape Escape offers a chance to get out of town for the day! No organization needed, I've done it all for you! Please take note that the winery and region can change based on their availability. However, all destinations are about 1 hour away from Valencia and all tours include an excellent winery tour, wine and oil tasting, three course lunch and interesting historical attraction. You won't be disappointed!
This experience will be both indoors and outdoors. The wine growing areas are at higher altitudes. Please be sure to bring warmer clothes in cooler months to cover up with outside or in the cellars and caves.
This activity does not require too much walking at a time. However, the ground can be uneven. Please be careful to watch your step and proceed with caution when walking around the ruins of the castle or caves.

Our day sailing with Viviana and Fernando was incredible. Blew away my expectations. Viviana is lovely and the perfect hostess. Fernando taught us so much about sailing! We had plenty of great wine and the cheese/charcuterie plate was to die for. Will not return to Valencia without repeating this experience! 10/10!

Swim, float in the water, sip wine or beer, and eat provided snacks for the full Mediterranean experience.
Really enjoyed our walking tour. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgable. We had an informative tour of the city and got to see all the major sights and sample some local food. Would highly recommend!
Very comprehensive tour with a perfect guide. Detailed and sufficient information on many places. Gave us a very good idea on the historical and architectural beauties of Valencia. Moreover it provided important information on other aspects of the city such as gastronomy and important stores.

Tuk Tuk Valencia - Complete Tour (Center - Arts - Marina - Beach)
Great way to see the sights in Valencia!
, Nov 2019
We had a wonderful time on the tour and found our guide, Dan, to be very personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He was very accommodating and gave us tips on what to see at each spot. Some of the main streets were originally closed due to a marathon, but he re-arranged the stops around the marathon schedule so we were able to go to each one. We did not feel rushed at all and had a good amount of free time to explore. His knowledge of the city, as well as his driving skills, were excellent. Overall, a beautiful day in a lovely city. Thank you!
Great tour of Valencia. The guide (Dan) spoke English and he stopped at many locations for us to get off and walk for a few minutes to take pictures etc. The only thing I would say would have been nicer is to have had maybe a headset so we could hear him better as the Tuk Tuk was a bit noisy during the drive.
Have only a short amount of time to explore Valencia? Enjoy a fun way to travel—and see many of the city’s top landmarks—on this small-group tuk-tuk tour. Meet your guide in the city center, and hop aboard: you’ll discover Valencia’s Old Town, will visit the City of Arts and Sciences, will admire the marina and postcard-perfect beach, and will learn the stories behind the sights as you go.
Valencia Shore Excursion: Highlights Tour, Tapas & Wine in 11th Century Monument
So much fun!!
, Nov 2019
This was our favorite excursion of the trip. We got to see the city in small groups with terrific guides and then had amazing food with abundant wines, that just kept flowing. Thank you Lara and Nick for a fabulous day!!
We met our guide Laura at the terminal and took cabs into the city. There were 6 in our group. She was very knowledgeable about everything. We walked around for about a half hour as she told us what we were seeing. We then took cabs to the Arts and Science center and walked around while Laura told us all about the place. It was beautiful but we didn’t go through the museum so when they say tickets are included, there were no tickets. We then walked a short distance to the tallest building in Valencia and had tapas with 4 different wine tastings. We met another group there and between 12 of us went through 12 bottles of wine and we had so much delicious food that I was still full at dinner time. This was a great tour and I highly recommend it.
As a couple we have taken many tours but this tour was the best. We actually took the wrong bus from the cruise ship but they had no problem meeting up with us. Amazing service. The tour was just 6 people and low key, they took their time explained all the sites and then took us back to their office for a roodtop wine tasting and tapas dinner. Great food, wine, amazing service and a view from their 33 floor office. Don't miss this tour. We loved it.
Get the most out of your time in Valencia on this half-day shore excursion. Visit landmarks such as the Church of San Nicolas, and Central Market. It'll be a hassle-free day with entrance fees, a guide, and a delicious tapas lunch and wine tasting from the rooftop of City and Arts and Sciences included.
But the downside is no pictures inside the caves as groups row around on boats. The guide arrived in his own compact car and we were three So we fitted in the sedan. I would give it five stars if i could bring back photo memories of inside the cave especially during boating.
A excursion departing from Valencia city to discover the largest underground river in Europe. We will pick you up from the hotels or a meeting point in Valencia and we'll drive you to Vall d'Uixo, the village where the cave is. Once we arrive, we can use the rest rooms, take a coffer or whatever needed at the restaurants, bars and shops.
At 10:00 o clock we take the boat and going among the river. There is also a dry zone, where we can go on foot during 10 minutes aprox. and return to the boat to continue the trip inside the cave.

We were picked up at a central location and taken to a beautiful country home. There were 8 of us, but they provided personal service. We cooked, we laughed and we drank wine. What could be better. The chef and interpreter were hysterical. They provided instruction and historical information of paella, in a very humorous way. Wow, wow, wow, very yummy paella! A must do activity!
This was the highlight of our Spain trip and exceeded our expectations! It is as advertised and more! Maria, Rafa & Roberto were so much fun. We had a lovely afternoon in the country, learned all about paella and enjoyed delicious food and drink in good company! We felt it truly was an authentic experience with people that know exactly what they are doing. Not to be missed!
From start to finish, we had A blast. We were picked up on time from our hotel and taken to a country house where we relaxed, had a wonderful meal, and learned quite a bit. We have no reservations about recommending this class!
