Aquapolis Tours

In the Golden Sands resort town up the coast from Varna, Aquapolis is a 10-acre (4-hectare) landscaped water park with a lazy river, pools, and a number of slides. Besides adults’ and children’s areas, the extreme zone boasts the Kamikaze, a slide delivering speeds of up to 37 mph (60 kph). There are a number of food options on-site.

The Basics
Visit Aquapolis from Varna, Albena, within Golden Sands, or from other Black Sea coast resorts. Children under 3 feet tall (90 centimeters tall) get in free; children under 4 feet tall (120 centimeters tall) pay reduced admission. Arrive in the late afternoon to enjoy discounted entry. Besides pools, slides, a lazy river, fountains, and Jacuzzis, the park offers striking landscaping, with artificial ruins and plenty of trees. Other fun kids’ activities include a miniature climbing wall.

Things to Know Before You Go

• Aquapolis is a must for families with children.
• Outside food and drink are not allowed at Aquapolis.
• Children under 4 feet tall (120 centimeters tall) are not allowed to use the slides or lazy river in the adults’ area.
• There is free Wi-Fi in the park.
• The main entrance is accessed by a long flight of stairs, which is challenging with strollers.

How to Get There
Aquapolis is located on the main road through Golden Sands, in the northwestern part of the resort. A minibus picks up at points around Golden Sands for a small fee every 40 minutes. There is parking on-site, while some buses stop here en route between Albena and Varna.

When to Get There
Aquapolis opens during Bulgaria’s summer season, generally from the start of June until mid-September. It operates from midmorning to early evening seven days a week. Visit in the late afternoon to enjoy discounted entry.
