I arranged this tour for the morning we were returning to the UK with Eurostar in the afternoon. I checked before booking, what time the coach would arrive back to Paris, as our Eurostar train was booked to leave Paris at 16:07. I was told by Customer Services, the coach would arrive back at approximately 13:30. We thought this would leave us enough time to collect our luggage from the hotel and then get a taxi to Gare du Nord in time for our train.
On arriving at Giverny the tour guide stipulated SEVERAL times, that everyone should arrive back at the coach by 11:30 at the latest for our journey back to Paris.
The actual visit to Monet's garden was very enjoyable, although being the time of year, there were not many flowers out in bloom, but both my husband and myself found it interesting. After looking round the gardens and Monet's house, we had a quick coffee and then returned to the coach. Almost everyone on the tour had returned a few minutes before the 11:30 deadline, but very frustratingly at 11:45 we were still waiting for 3 passengers to arrive back. As you can imagine I was getting quite agitated at this point, because as I have mentioned, it was important we arrived back to Paris at the time I was given. What was so annoying, we were now waiting for 3 people, who for some reason or another took there time to eventually return to the coach, so everyone who had returned on time, were just sitting on the coach waiting for them! In my frustration I asked the tour operator why were we still hanging around waiting for these people, as it was now 11:50. The tour operator said that because it was 2 adults and a child who were late, we couldn't leave without them. So, thinking about this, everyone could've had another 15 minutes enjoying Monet's Garden etc., instead of waiting on the coach for these irresponsible people to turn up!
