Lots of added extras! Stopping in the national park, visiting trout farm, fruit farm, another national park and finally El Bolson street fair! Our guide was really pleasant and made us included despite being the only English speakers in a group of around 15. Great way to see some lovely countryside.

A very noisy affair and some good Tango

La Ventana Tango Show with Optional Dinner in Buenos Aires | Mär 2020
Reserved this last minute. Our hotel rated this as good. We booked just the show- no food or drinks. The tour operator indicated they do not pick up in the Palermo area and provided a prominent spot for pick up at 9:00 p.m. We took a taxi to that spot and waited and were picked up a bit after 9:00 p.m. So do not expect hey would be there exactly at 9:00 p.m. Remember you are enjoying a vacation. When we reached the place we were offered to go upstairs and enjoy a smaller venue that had a different show. Even though it might have been better I decided to stay with Ventana since I wanted to see what I had paid for. When we entered the venue was packed with people eating and drinking and was extremely busy. It was too loud to my liking. The show started around 10:00 p.m. From the start I found the music to be too loud and I had my ear blocked all through the performance. The Tango was good, including the 'Don't Cry for me Argentina' presentation. There were other pan flute presentations also. However, I had seen a Tango performance on a cruise ship the night before and that performance was much better and in a quieter environment. In conclusion the tour operator was well organised given the last minute reservation; the performance was good but the noise was unbearable for me and my spouse. If you like loud spaces, you may rate it higher.

Puerto Blest Sightseeing Cruise and Waterfalls Hike from Bariloche | Mär 2020
Poor value for money and you are better to make your own way to the board and buy a ticket The excursion staff were very nice but we did not see them or even need them on the day other than for a hotel pickup and drop off.....book a taxi and go yourself. The national Park is well worth visiting

Unfortunate Experience

Gaucho Day Trip from Buenos Aires: Don Silvano Ranch | Mär 2020
I paid more than $300 for this excursion. Unfortunately, I had to travel to an alternate location to be picked up (they wouldn't pick me up where I was staying, unlike other more quality excursions). I also had no idea traffic would be as bad as it was at that hour. Obviously we were running late. Even though we had them on the phone, telling them we were 5 minutes away, they wouldn't wait. We missed the shuttle, and missed the excursion. Not only that, but it was clear that there wouldn't even be a partial refund. Lost my $300, even though we arrived within the 9:30 to 10:00 window that they had stipulated. While obviously we should have arrived at 9:30, they could've told us traffic was as bad as it was at that hour. How was I to know? I would also think that, having paid more than $300, they could have waited another 5 min. Clearly out to make money and not to serve the needs of their client.

Buenos Aires: Señor Tango Dinner & Show | Mär 2020
This show is a must see if you are in Buenos Aires. We only had a 1 dtop from our ship but it was no trouble getting to and from the Cruise terminal to the stated meeting point. Loved the Senor Tango theatre, atmosphere electric.

Ushuaia Double Decker Bus Tour

Ushuaia Double Decker Bus Tour | Mär 2020
We needed a short tour and this was perfect. One hour for a very reasonable price. The bus drove us all over town and up into the hills, stopping at a small airstrip for a photo-op with great views of the harbor and the city. Good commentary and music, too.

Spa day spoiled

Premium Spa Day & Fango Therapy at Cacheuta Hot Springs with Lunch and Transfers | Mär 2020
I would not travel with this tour company again. We were 4 Americans (2 of us speak some Spanish) in a van of mostly Brazilian tourists. First, the van arrived 35 minutes after the specified meeting time of 8:45am. Then, about halfway to the spa, the van developed a flat tire. After about an hour of sitting at the side of the highway (the driver did not keep the group informed, didn’t speak English or try to let us know anything) another van came to take us to the spa. When we arrived, we were told we would be staying an extra hour to make up for the inconvenience. No one asked us if we wanted to stay longer, they just told us. For us, it meant getting back to our apartment and rushing to our dinner reservation instead of having a relaxing evening. When we left at 5:30pm, the bus took us 20 min out of the way to look at a view of the reservoir, which wasn’t mentioned in my reservation. Then, the driver told me he would take us home first, but instead we were last. (Didn’t like Americans?) So it was after 7pm when we arrived back. Can get this excursion from many other companies so would recommend skipping this one with Tangol agency.

The trip was fun and our guide was informative and friendly. The small group experience made it easier to hear the information and to share experiences with fellow travelers. It was well organized and the food was great.

El Querandi Tango Show with Optional Dinner | Mär 2020
Pickup and drop off were fast and prompt. Dinner was delicious and as a solo traveler I got a bottle of wine to myself (didn’t drink all of it, but still nice). The show was very good, showcasing the history and evolution of tango. My guide book had stated that the show at this venue was more “low key”, but the dancers had some pretty impressive moves! Tiny complaints: there was a bit too much singing and musical interludes compared to the dancing, and be advised that pillars may obscure some views (not by much though - you will still see the majority of the action).

Ushuaia Airport Shared Transfer | Mär 2020
They did not turn up as booked. I waited half an hour past the booked time. The hotel receptionist could not get in touch with the company so he called me a taxi. Currently trying to get a refund as the service was not provided.

Total disappointment!

Full Day Tour to Traslasierra Valley from Cordoba | Mär 2020
It was a disappointing trip for several reasons: The bus has very poor speakers so we could not understand most of the narrative. We complained to the guide, Ana but she didn’t seem very concerned. Also the ride was rough because the driver was quite erratic in his movements. Scenery was pleasant but not outstanding, we didn’t visit any interesting towns only 1 church. Then time was spent at a river supposedly for “swimming “ but we were not aware of this stop so were not prepared. We cannot recommend this tour!

Iguazu Falls Private Day Trip from Buenos Aires with Airfare | Mär 2020
I do not recommend this tour company. We had a reservation for two that was cancelled the night before departure due to a flight cancellation. This was understandably unfortunate however what was absolutely frustrating was the fact that we were not given a full refund despite the fact that all arrangements including airfare were made by this tour operator.

Nibepo Aike Ranch Day and Horseback Riding from el Calafate | Mär 2020
We reserved the whole day at N.A.R. The pickup from our hotel went fine. We arrived to the ranch to the welcome coffee and pastries/breads that was very good. We then took a short hike with some narrative about the fauna, before a cow milking and sheep shearing demo. Lunch was served sitting inside. It was absolutely delicious. Some salad and about 3 or 4 types of bbq's lamb and sausages. Afterwards we had about an hour or so siesta (which I think most of us would have preferred to continue with the day and return sooner). About 3pm we started our 3 hour horseback ride. The scenery was absolutely amazingly beautiful. Along side the water and views of Perito Moreno on the other side of the mountain. The really only negative in my opinion was that there was absolutely no direction about the horses. You got on the horse and given the reigns...and that's it. Also our guide spoke only Spanish. We had Germans, French, and Americans on the tour. So again no narrative whatsoever on where we were going and what we were seeing. I had read earlier reviews that the guests were allowed to gallop. Our horses were slower than molasses...so basically it was a beautiful trail ride. Afterwards they put us in a taxi for the 1 hour drive back to El Calafate.
