This tour was excellent and gave us insight ad history to the area, we enjoyed Mario, the only unfortunate thing that happened was his tyre got caught in a grate in gutter, as it was missing, and the company would not come to help get him free, but otherwise an excellent tour.

Not worth the cost and/or time. One of the locations we were supposed to visit was closed. Most of our time spent at the Panama Canal which after seeing it in about 10/15mins you could easily move on to something else. Waste of money.

TOUR OPERATOR COMMENT: We visit all places in our itinerary. The Canal visit need minimum 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the exhibition center (movie, museum and boats transiting the locks.

The description says it starts at 08:00. I was told by the tour operator that my pickup would be at 09:00. At 09:15 I started asking the tour company for an update. Finally a driver arrived just before 10:00. He didn't really have an explanation for the mix up. In fact, he told me that he was just asked to take me to the Miraflores Locks. He did help me with my bags and was pleasant for the few minutes I had with him. I then explored Miraflores Locks on my own remember you have to pay your own admission. I then met up with my guide Mario who told me that I was the only one on the tour. We then went to Ancon Hill. I am a bigger guy but it took only about 30min to climb the hill to get to the top to get all the views of Panama. We then relaxed at the top until I was ready to go back down. Then off to Casco Antiguo where we did a walking tour of the area. After the tour concluded, we went to a cafe for lunch and then he agreed to drop me off at the airport instead of my hotel for an additional sum. Overall once the tour started it was great... Mario is a good guide and nothing beats being the only one on the tour. However, the initial confusion and delay did mean that the day started off on a less than positive note. Something to consider.

Monkey Island Tour from Panama City | Mär 2020
If you want to get outside of the Panama City for a few hours and see some nature, this is the tour you want to take. It’s the shortest possible way to experience Monkey Island. We saw 3 type of monkeys. Many jumped on the boat and ate from our hands... just a fun experience. Mario is a nice fun guide. Bring some nuts and bananas if you can. Wear sunblock and expect to get hot. We were also lucky to see 2 crocodiles... and some birds... and all kinds of ships and boats crossing the line to pass through the Panama Canal. Worth it!

So So Tour

Combination Tour from Panama City: Rainforest, San Lorenzo Fort and Canal Expansion | Mär 2020
Most of the time spent driving in the van. We could have spent 1/2 hour touring around Colon since we were there already but guide wanted to rush back to Panama City. Lunch was stopping at a grocery store and buying our own lunch and eating in the van. The tour did buy 1 beer for me. The guide was knowledgeable so that was a plus and we did see some monkeys, a sloth, a racoon-like creature. Entrance to the Panama Canal zone was $20 so you need to add that to the trip.

Day Trip to El Valle Anton from Panama City | Mär 2020
Mario and assistants gave exceptional service! The entire experience was invigorating! Weather was good and lots of sun --cooler than the city! If go again would try mid February! Don't miss the Butterfly exhibit and Zoo! The highlight is the mud face and spring of life swim. Would not have missed this one! Highly recommeded!

Day Trip to El Valle Anton from Panama City | Mär 2020
If you want to get out of Panama City for the day take the El Valle Anton tour. There were 3 in our group and we were the only 3 on the tour with our terrific tour guide Mario. He is very knowledgeable, personable, courteous and professional. El Valley Anton is a beautiful area in the mountains with great weather. Mario took us hiking, experienced the hot springs, applied mud masks, strolled through the local market and tasted delicious local fruits and had lunch together at a local restaurant. A must-do tour and should not be missed.

On the boat ride we seen crocodiles, got to feed the white face monkeys, seen some howler monkeys (didnt howl 😔) and the tete monkeys. The tete and the white face monkey ate out of my hands and were very friendly. The guide Janelly was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Amazing trip.

Rewarding tour of Monkey Island

Monkey Island Tour from Panama City | Feb 2020
We were picked up on time as advertised. Along the way to pick up our boat our guide gave us a clear explanation of what we were going to see and what to look for. It was very informative. We got to see three different types of monkeys and were able to hand-feed capuchin monkeys. They came right into the boat! As a bonus we spotted some Toucans and also got to see a sloth hanging out in a tree. A very rewarding and fun morning.

Monkeys everywhere! Mario and Monkey Whisperer deliver as promised!

Monkey Island Tour from Panama City | Feb 2020
We had a great experience with Mario Pick up was as described from our hotel in downtown Panama in an air conditioned van. Group size is capped at 10- it was all couples and my family (hisband & 2 boys ages 6 & 8). The ride to Lake Gatun went quickly as Mario shared alot of information with us about history of the area and what to expect on our tour. Once in the boat on the tour, everything was exactly as described. We stopped several times based on monkey sightings Mario and his partner(Monkey whisperer lady) had. We were able to see all three types of monkeys in the trees and were fortunate enough that two types (TiTi and Capuchin monekys) actually hopped into our boats and accepted nuts & bananas from our group. Mario was very helpful and provided tios before and during the tour for how to interact with the monkeys should they come on our boat. My entire fammily loved it and my kids were in awe of the expereince they were able to have. Plus on the way back we saw a sunbathing crocodile so my son's days was absolutely complete! I wish I could post a short video clip so you can see the interaction, but believe the reviews- Mario and team deliver 150% of what they say they will on this excursion. I would even take my boys on a future visit again it was that great!

Cool Fort, Canal and wild animals!

Cruiseline Excursion Colon: Rainforest, San Lorenzo Fort and Canal Expansion | Feb 2020
Over all the tour was great. Our driver was great at stopping and showing us animals in the wild, like monkies and sloths, as we toured the jungle. San Lorenzo Fort was very cool with vast, beautiful vistas all around. The Canal Expansion was cool and we stayed long enough to see a ship exiting and another entering, and others waiting in a que, in a side bay. There were also clean restrooms and refreshments at the Fort and the Canal locations, with ample security.

Combination Tour from Panama City: Rainforest, San Lorenzo Fort and Canal Expansion | Feb 2020
The trip was interesting and diverse. Plan on spending $20 on admissions. While the instructions indicate to bring a towel, what is needed is a cloth or facial towel to wipe away sweat because it is hot and humid while walking through the rain forest and the fort. Bring fruit, such an apple or pear, chips or other snack to eat during the trip. There is no time for a formal sit down lunch. Water is available.

Amazing monkeys!

Monkey Island Tour from Panama City | Feb 2020
This was the highlight of our trip! The boat was clean and dry and the 3 operators were nice. They knew where the monkeys were and brought food to attract them. We were treated to 3 different kinds of monkeys (the howlers were shy, but they were able to get them to make noise so we knew they were there). The other two types of monkeys were very friendly and came right up to use so we could feed them by hand. It was amazing to have them climb over us and gently take our treats. Soooo enjoyed this tour! Highly recommend it

Good Overview

star-4RKMX2
Cruiseline Excursion Colon: Rainforest, San Lorenzo Fort and Canal Expansion | Feb 2020
We first drove thru the rain forest stopping along the way to see wildlife including monkeys and sloths on our way the San Lorenzo Fort. Along the way, our guide (Julio) provided an informative narrative on the history of Panama. The road was very bumpy, but it was a nice van with good working A/C. At the fort, the vista was beautiful and it was easy to see it's strategic importance as the inland waterway (river) it protected was the transit route for European commerce to the Pacific Ocean from the 1500's until the Canal was opened 500 years later. (The waterway the fort protected took ships within 16 miles of Panama City where the remainder of trip had to be over land.) The highlight of the trip was the Canal visitor center at the Agua Clara locks. There was a short film on the history of the canal. We were able to see 2 vessels transverse the locks. The only reason for not giving this tour 5 stars is because of the long and bumpy ride to the fort. Not part of the tour, but the town of Colon looks like it's been fire bombed. Our cruise ship advised passengers not to walk into town.

Cruiseline Excursion Colon: Rainforest, San Lorenzo Fort and Canal Expansion | Feb 2020
The vehicle was uncomfortable, too much time spent driving, too much time without our guide (on our own for two out of three stops). No time allowed for lunch (even on our own). I do not recommend this tour.

Everything would be good, but our tour guide spoke English poorly. Rainforest was a waist of time. No time for lunch was arranged.
