We took alot of tours on our most recent trip, but this was by far our favorite. We felt like we had a true Prague experience and not just a tour. Alous was a very knowledgeable tour guide with a great command of the English language. What we really loved about this tour is the variety of tastes, activities and experiences we enjoyed.
We started the morning at a wine bar and enjoyed a glass of hot mulled wine. Next we took an old fashioned car to the top of the Prague Castle for a walk around the upper Mala Strana. The car had heated seats and the driver provided a warm blanket. Even though the temperature was in the 40s, we were not cold!
We enjoyed a walk through the Mala Strana to an old hotel/monastery. There we enjoyed the first course of our day: wursts, pretzels and a beer tasting. The beer was created by and was exclusive to the monastery and was REALLY good!
We continued over the Charles Bridge to the Old Town and toured part of the Old Town Square. Then we stopped for a second main course of lunch at a nice restaurant. We enjoyed a high quality lunch in the heart of the Old Town, before heading to the Jewish Quarter. Continuing back towards the river, we then got a view of both sides of the riverbank from a cruise and tried some delicious desserts on the boat. We finished our tour of the Jewish Quarter and headed back for a wine tasting at the wine bar at which we began. She gave us samples of numerous local wines, along with some cheese, crackers and jam.
It was a fantastic day and was well paced. Even though we toured for over 7 hours, we were able to take breaks with each snack/meal/tasting. We are in our late 50s and the walk was definitely fine. I would recommend flat, comfortable shoes and we were on cobblestones much of the time. We highly recommend this tour!
