Kulinarischer Spaziergang mit Speisen und Wein durch Syrakus

This was a great introduction to Syracuse on our first night there. Our guide, Elisa, was very friendly and made sure we were well catered for the whole evening. The second bar we went to became a regular spot for us over the week! As well as showing us around the city, Elisa was able to recommend places for us to see and eat during our stay. Very helpful indeed.

Our guide for this tour was pleasant, and tried to be informative, but, by his own admission, he was filling in at the last minute for the scheduled guide. The fish platter and white wine tasting site was excellent, but so noisy we had difficulty hearing the guide. The meat tasting with red wine site was quieter, but the manager was unpleasant he would not even set a place for the guide. The site for dessert served the most mediocre cannola we have had on our trip. Plus, the guide smoked on this food tour. LACKLUSTER experience.

Fabulous food, wine and tour!

Based on the website description I was looking forward to this tour as part of a week-long visit to Sicily. And it did not disappoint! Our guide, Valeria, was a true local.....saying hello to police and neighborhood store owners along the way. She took us through several streets and alleys, pointing out the interesting historical significance of buildings and areas she has a background in architecture too. The food/wine stops were interesting in that they provided a sampling of things we probably wouldn't have experienced on our own. Just enough food, wine, walking and talking.....an enjoyable way to spend a relaxing evening in Ortigia.

Elisa was so good what a truly superb evening with lots of great wine and food and all of our other travellers were great too...a must!

i was very disappointed with this tour. while Valeria clearly knew the history of the area, her talk was disjointed. a chronology of the history would have added some context to the dates/buildings/monuments. and the food/wine was not as advertised. our first stop with tastings of seafood was set in a lovely locale and the food and wine was wonderful. the second stop was simply cheese and meats...where was the meal? i understand food can be seasonal but the photos advertised a full meal. and very little explanation of the food and wine. was certainly not a tour for foodies or wine enthusiasts looking to learn about the local fare. i don't recommend this tour.

Tour was fun and we enjoyed the company of the other people on our tour it was a small group tour and there were 8 of us. Our guide Anna Maria was very lovely and shared a lot about Sircusa, but she didn't tie what we were eating to Siracusa at all. It would have been nice to know why the particular restaurants were chosen and why the foods we sampled were chosen. That said, the proprietors of the places we went were great and very accommodating there were several people with food restrictions. And the food - delicious!

This tour was fantastic. Our guide was super knowledgable about the area and the history of Ortigia. All of the food and drinks we excellent. If you have the time, this is a great tour to take to get a mix of the history, culture and food of Siracusa.

Fun tour with a nice sampling of wine from the region and a taste of the food. Our tour guide was friendly and enjoyable to be around. However, I felt a little underwhelmed by the whole experience might have been because of the heat. This is what I remember.
