Don't bother

We took multiple tours. This was the worst we have ever had in or out of Tasmania. Car smelt, could not hear the tour guide, although we were upfront in the small van. Nice guy, but he had no commentary to offer. They don't offer pick up, even though there was only 5 of us, and they failed to let the driver know we had to walk to their pick up point and was not staying at the Backpackers, which they made us walk to with our luggage (no other company made us do this). Stood outside the van for 15 min as the driver wasn't notified. Other participants complained though we didn't have the heart to tell the driver because we had hours to go on the tour with him. He did lend coats which was lovely as it was raining; not a bad guy at all. But, honestly, the tour is just not worth the money - a total waste. Went to a winery and nothing was organised; it was basically a stop to get you to buy wine. On other tours, they have pre-organised tastings. Most expensive tour we took, but with the lowest quality experience and customer service. Just take the bus from Launceston - Hobart, it's less expensive and you can see the stops another way. We sent a complaint before to see the company would address our concerns, but they basically said they won't do anything about it. We had no choice once the tour started. I mean, how do you organise anything in the middle of nowhere? And they keep your money anyway. So, be discerning. This was just not a good experience. Couldn't wait to get out of the smelly tour van full of stains. Just gross. Sorry, it's the truth.

Hi Amy Tam, We have looked closely at your details when your refund request came through via Trip Advisor Experiences and again now with your review. Both trip advisor and Tours Tasmania reviewed your refund request and both companies declined to refund you. We offer over 40 pick up locations in Launceston. Your accommodation at Alice’s Cottages in Launceston is not part of our pick up route, however, a close pick up location was offered at Launceston Backpackers, a 270 meter / 4 minute walk away, according to Google Maps. This was all discussed with you over emails prior to travelling with us. Our pick up locations are publicly available, we send them out on request to guests. When you book direct with us on our website, the pick up list and all locations and times are available to see. You finished your tour day in Hobart, your accommodation at Lodge on Elizabeth is part of our pick up and drop off service and you were dropped off to this location at the end of the day. All of Tours Tasmania tour vehicles are equipped with microphone/headset equipment and your Tour Guide on the day was carrying his headset. If you were unable to hear him, as you say, he is a very nice guy, and he would have adjusted things to ensure that you could hear, if you had made him aware. I am surprised to learn that the vehicle was smelly and dirty. We have a very small team of Tour Guides in our Launceston base and they all take very good care of the tour vehicles. I have spoken with all the tour guides regarding the vehicle you had on this day, and we are unable to see where your comments are coming from. Perhaps if you had made your guide aware on the day, of a smell that was so bad it impacted you in this manner, then we could have taken some action to provide a more comfortable journey for you, and had an opportunity to rectify the situation. Our first stop of the day is at a Campbell Town. A small township where there is opportunity to purchase your lunch / snack supplies for the day ahead, grab a coffee or late breakfast, an opportunity to prepare for the day ahead for anyone who has not had an opportunity to do so. After Campbelltown, it is around a 1 hour drive to our next stop on the East Coast at the Great Oyster Bay Lookout. The purpose of this stop is to step off the tour vehicle, stretch the legs, make use of the toilet facilities and also enjoy a fabulous view from the Lookout across Great Oyster Bay, the surrounding hills and vineyards. At the site, there are the commercial operations of the Devils Corner Winery, Tombolo Coffee and The Fishers from Freycinet Marine Farm. If you want to visit the cafes/seafood/wine at this 10.00am stop, feel free to do so, however, wine shopping or tastings is not our purpose for the stop. After our stop at Great Oyster Bay Lookout, we continue onwards to Freycinet National Park and make best use of our time enjoying the short walks and natural attractions of the Wineglass Bay area. We have around 4 hours or so at Freycinet National Park, we enjoy the Wineglass Bay Lookout Walk, from the lookout you can continue down to the Wineglass Bay beach for the keen hikers, or enjoy some alternate shorter walks and a lunch break at the stunning Honeymoon Bay. After our time at Freycinet National Park, you are then able to conclude your tour day by finishing in Hobart, via the last stop for the day at Kate’s Berry Farm, where you have a chance to refresh before the last leg of the final drive to Hobart. This is a fantastic way to maximise your travel time and make the most of a short trip to Tasmania by travelling the along the East Coast, seeing the iconic Wineglass Bay and switching between Launceston/Hobart all in 1 big day!

Wonderful landscape from the Wine Glass bay lookout. Having lunch close to Honeymoon beach was good. We enjoyed hiking with the guide. But we didn't go to " Freycinet Marine Farm" and "the historic Ross Village-“Kiki’s Kitchen” on Overview.

Best way to travel from Launceston...

Best way to travel from Launceston to Hobart. I strongly recommend it. You get 2 Tour Guides - Graeme from Launceston to Freycinet was cold, perfunctory and jaded. Clinton from Freycinet to Hobart was warm and knowledgeable about Tassie history which he imparted with passion.

If you're looking to get from one end of Tasmania to the other, this is a great trip. With a stop at Freycinet National Park, to hike and go to the beach, traveling between cities feels fun and more like an excursion. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable and clearly really care about Tasmania.
