Wahrscheinlich wäre eine Reservierung zu dieser Jahreszeit 23.9.15 nicht nötig gewesen. Alle Busse - auch Hop on Hop off - waren um 10.00Uhr wenig besetzt.
Nach heutiger Erfahrung: Taxi vom Cruise Hafen zur Oberstadt, nach Wetterlage und Zeitbedarf Busfahrt auswählen.
My husband and I took the morning trip. Our guide/driver was well informed and told us all about the city. We stopped at the Plains of Abraham and near the Place Royale which were both places we wanted to see. The only complaint was that there were many other tours leaving from the same departure point in front of the Visitor's Center and it was confusing which bus to board. We booked online and there was no indication which of many buses to board.
The lowest point of my short visit to Quebec city was this bus tour. I even forgot her name. I took tour on July 15, 2018 on 10:30 am of Quebec city Sightseeing Tour by bus.
As she came late to start the tour, she deliberately decided to give us a hard time as she checked the ticket at the door before we got on the bus. After I handed my final tour ticket for two ( which was already all registered and checked and printed 20 mins ago by the Information Center Viator staff), she needed to see our online registration printout because the policy has changed ( that's what she said), the one with the bar code, then we told her the Viator staff took it already. Then she didn't say much. The funny thing was that she asked to see that paper only from us, there was bus full of people but she asked to see only ours and none from other people. Later I realized that she wanted to remove us from her tour because of her joke later.
2. She has not turned on air conditioner in the bus for some untold reason and all the door was closed and felt stuffy every time we got on the bus. The day was cloudy and it wasn't hot but 85% humidity with a full load of old school bus type tour vehicle was quite unbearable.
3. On some stops she wanted us to return to the bus quickly due to time constraint. In explaining how to move fast, she mock the Japanese tourist by even acting out her impression of the Japanese tourist. We are not Japanese, but we are Asian American. I don't think she knows our ethnicity but obviously she has no way of identifying us as Japanese or not. In this day and age of global economy and diversity, mocking one ethnicity in a bus our by the tour guide is unacceptable and a shame for this driver and the Viator who hired this incompetent and rude tour guide. All she had to say to the tourists that they should return to the bus in certain amount of time and in fact all other tour guides that I have met told plainly and clearly the time limit that they should return to the bus. Only this driver in my life has a rude attitude as a tour guide. Shame on her and Viator.
After all this tour was the lowest point of our stay in Quebec. I would recommend and use the Hop on Hop off red bus and will use that company instead of Viator bus tour.
She was the first tour guide in my entire life who mocked one particular ethnicity. I am sure she is a bad apple in Viator. tour guide. At the end of the tour, no one appreciated her guide in my opinion
