This was a very convenient and fun way to finish a cruise off. Met at the cruise terminal - easy to spot tour guide who brought us to the bus. The tour through Bath and the Baths were nice. The Pub lunch was great with plenty of time to explore the town. Very convenient getting dropped off at the hotel.
We were expecting more from this tour. Pickup was right on time. However, we didn't get much information about the area - only what needed to be said about the two places we visited - nothing extra. Most of the time the six of us rode in the van very quietly. I compare this to the tour we had with Kara on Sunday when we visited the same places, but she provided information at all times.
However, our driver, Paul, did an excellent job and was very personable.
I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it. It was a nice way to end a cruise. It was both interesting and relaxing. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the area. It was a small group which made it nice. We were not rushed thru the tour. Bath is a great city to visit
and the Cotswolds area is very nice. Nice stop in a charming village.
Our post-cruise excursion was one of the highlights of our trip. We retrieved our luggage at the cruise port in Southampton and the bus was waiting right outside the exit door. The scheduled pick-up time was 8:00 am with an 8:30 am departure time but the bus was there by 7:30 am and all of the travelers were loaded early and we got an early start on our way to Bath. There was some confusion for travelers who had booked the tour through Viator versus those who had booked it directly with the tour company. The Viator website did not specify that you had to book the tickets for the Roman baths in addition to the tour price so we didn't have tickets, nor did about half of our traveling companions. Our tour guide was very helpful and sold Roman bath tickets at the pre-tour group price. We didn't have a problem with doing so but there was one family who was somewhat upset over having to pay more to actually see the Roman baths. This is something to keep in mind!
The Costwold village that we visited for lunch, Labcock, was beautiful and the lunch was very good. We had plenty of time to walk around the village taking pictures, including pictures of a couple of houses from the Harry Potter movies. After that the bus driver dropped off everyone at their hotels near Heathrow or in London. We were the first ones dropped off so we got to our hotel a little earlier than expected, which was another bonus.
