We had an amazing full-day Nicaragua tour with Eco Terra. The tour vehicle came to our hotel to pick us up exactly at 6am, not even one minute late. We were the only guests in that day so the tour became a private tour with one guide, one driver and another guide on training plus a boat driver, a island guide, a cook, there were 6 people working for us, felt like VIP. Breakfast was offered as soon as we got on the shuttle bus, a sandwich with an apple, a banana and a boxed juice, also with bottled water and hot coffee. Crossing the border took us a long time, but the rest of the tour just made it up.
The tour contained lots of activities, exactly as said in the overview. I always like to see the difference during my trips around the world. The city walk around San Carlos satisfied me with that. The boat riding on Nicaragua lake was the most exciting part, we saw various of birds on the way to the islands. The view of the lake on the boat was amazingly amazing, especially near San Fernando Island. The lunch on the island was nice, fish freshly came from the lake cooked in a local style served with salad, chips and desert, very tasty. We picked up an extra guide from the island and she gave us a cultural tour on the Mancarron island, which was awesome too. The boat ride on the return trip was a bonus excitement. It was a water roller coaster! The boat went up n down or swang dramatically, but the driver got it well controlled. Due to the natural wind on Nicaragua lake, the return ride is always like this. So just be cautious and psychologically ready for it when you book this tour. But trust me it fun, harlirious and safe.

Our guide Gabriel Cascante was awesome! He's the best guide we've had for our entire Costa Rica trip. Not only did he speak very fluent and clear English, but completely understood what we said that's very important, thus making the communication smooth and efficient without any problems. He's very informative, knowledgeable, responsible and patient. His ability of time management was impressive. We were a bit late in the morning due to a small mistake made by some staff in the company, but it's been quickly fixed and we finished every single scheduled activity without feeling rushed, and we actually got a bit more time at the very end to shortly visit the local market in San Carlos, Nicaragua, even the border crossing took us way more time than expected. This was not scheduled, totally a bonus. Gabriel also offered detailed answers and generous suggestions when we asked questions, as well as some extra free services eg. We switched hotels in the day we had the tour. When dropped us off, they actually drove us to the pick up hotel, waited for/helped us to get our stored luggages and then dropped us off to another hotel we booked. We love him.

Also want to talk about Eco Terra. We booked one tour and one transportation shuttle service with them. Both were so satisfying. The shuttle service was a shared shuttle but it turned out as a private service because we were the only customers again. And the drive came 15 mins earlier than scheduled pick up time, and waited for us patiently . All of Eco Terra's vehicles are clean and equipped with wifi, AC and free bottled water. I had a absolutely good impression of this company, very standardized, efficient, thoughtful, detail oriented and costumer friendly. All staff I met was well trained, on-time, professional, friendly and patient. I definitely recommend this company if you want to book a nature, culture related tour.
