Tagesausflug von Merida nach Chichén Itzá

Fabulous tour! Our guide was a Mayan with a wonderful sense of humor and extensive knowledge of the site.

This was a fantastic way to see Chichen Itza from Merida. They pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. Nice buffet at a quaint hotel on site. Guide was knowledgeable and patient with guests that were taxing. Excellent price and an amazing experience all around. Listen to what they advise about the heat! You will need water, a hat, and or an umbrella as the sun and heat are relentless.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, but for the sake of an honest review, I should point out a few things. The ticket said the tour started at 8am and pick ups start 30 to 60 minutes beforehand. Naturally, I was ready at 7:05am. I waited and waited and eventually my hotel called the tour company thanks Pablo!. I was picked up at 9:39am and I'll let you calculate how long I had been waiting in the lobby.

To be honest I quickly forgot this problem, as the tour was great with Jose as our guide. We got about 40 minutes of free time on site, which I would have preferred to be longer perhaps it was shortened by our late departure. The lunch at Mayaland was reasonable.

Finally, we visited a cenote. This was pleasant enough but if I were designing the tour from scratch I would swap the time at the cenote for more time at Chichen Itza.

It was difficult to understand the tour guide, and we didn't get much opportunity to take photos because it was so fast-paced. I feel like I didn't really learn anything about Chichen Itza, but at least I can say I've been there. Lunch was really good. The cenote they take you to is 100 pesos per person, and IS NOT included in the tour. Save your money and go to the cheaper cenotes outside of Merida.

Great tour, we stopped at a popular denote afterwards so bring a bath suit and towel! We had access through the side gate into Chichen Itza, which beats the hectic front gate apparently. Then we got to eat at a hotel buffet afterwards, with much variety and traditional dances.

Great English speaking guide Wilbert. This tour uses the Mayaland hotel as base, from which access to the site is quick and convenient. We where there at 11am which was perfect. not too busy The hotels buffet lunch was included and very good. Great tour!

Right from the beginning, our tour guide Wilbur put our small group of 8 at ease. The resulting trip exceeded our expectations. We were picked up on time and had an easy drive to Chichen Itza. Wilbur was empathetic, humorous, and knowledgeable as he took us to major points at Chichen Itza, encouraging questions and providing us with welcome history. We then returned to Mayaland, a nearby luxury hotel for a lovely buffet lunch, then a brief stop at Cho-cho Story a chocolate store near the hotel, and on to X-Cajum, a nearby cenote for an unforgettable dip in this deep pool. Home at the end of the day, we were foot-weary but thrilled with the experience of seeing Chichen Itza with a sense of its history and culture, brought to life with the words of Wilbur. A and we would do this again.

When we have originally signed up, we chose an English speaking tour. It turned out that the tour is both for Spanish and English speakers. Our guide did his best to conduct the tour in both languages but as you can imagine this was very challenging. The tour didn't have a good flow and it seemed there was more information in Spanish, than English.
The transportation was great - clean and comfortable. The lunch included in the tour we chose was good too - the restaurant offered many options International cuisine, vegetarian options etc,. We had an opportunity to visit the Cenote near by - it was a fun experience.
