I have to state the cemetary itself was pretty cool. however there were a couple of things that people in the tour were bothered by. first the tour guide, Marta, has a very heavy Spanish accent which makes it difficult to follow along with what she is saying, unless your very close. which was the second problem, there were way too many people on the tour for everyone to get close enough to hear her. lots of people were saying to each other they couldn't hear or understand what she was saying. the third thing was the meeting point was at Royal and Conti-why? why not meet at the Louis Armstrong house or at the cemetery? it seemed like a lot of additional walking for no real reason.
Fred was very informative during the tour. He even told us the history about some places that weren't normally in the tour. It's always a pleasure being on a tour with a guide who is passionate about what he does.
This was a great group tour. Our guide was absolutely delightful! She shared a wealth of information about the town she loves to call home. We stopped for drinks at a local bar that presented a delightful experience in the heart of NOLA. I highly recommend this great, informative tour.
Paul was our guide, and he is very knowledgeable and made the tour very fun. It's not a scary "look at the vampires" kind of tour as one might believe from their website. This tour (or at least with Paul) actually has a lot of information on the city's history, the horrible truths of slavery and even a little bit about voodoo and the understanding that it is simply another religion. Would highly recommend.
