These tours were educational and a genuine pleasure. Our guide at Laura Plantation was a true storyteller!

The history at Laura was EXTRAORDINARY! Our guide was highly informed and shared in a manner we could all keep up with! Oak Alley was beautiful but the lack of original furnishings and history was lackluster.

Make certain you clarify what your pick up time is with Cajun ahead of time. We were waiting out the front of our hotel for 30 minutes at what we thought was the prescribed time, according to the booking information. I phoned Cajun to check whether they were stuck in traffic... apparently we were the first pick up and the bus came and went 30 minutes prior to the prescribed time. This was the only day we had to do the tour - lucky we booked for the morning. The company were agreeable to pop us on the afternoon tour that day, however we viewed Oak Alley and Whitney instead. That being said the Whitney plantation was fantastic. We learned so much!

Being able to see a part of our past was incredible. The staff at both plantations were friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend to any history buffs.

Our Driver named Allan was FAB..full of information told in a jaunty clever style which made you want to listen to the facts and anecdotes with equal interest.
The coach had problems with the air con and made the journey a little uncomfortable at times, either too hot or too cold.
The Visit to Laura was excellent . Our Guide was very well versed and knowledgable and had a good style of delivery.
Oak Valley was the last stop of the day and was rushed...not sure if we were late arriving, but felt that the guides wanted to go home.
All in all a very pleasant afternoon and good value for money.......would recommend it .

I loved the Laura plantation! it was amazing and the back story was nothing short of fascinating. Rose our guide was knowledgeable and a great storyteller.

I did not enjoy Oak alley as much. The tour seemed very rushed/short in comparison to the Laura plantation.

Do not plan anything for the day of the tour as it is a long day, having to pick up and drop off everyone at their hotel

Bus ride was unpleasant. Very cold, music too loud. The actual tours were great.

A wonderful experience, however felt we were rushed and too many people on our tour of Oak Alley. Guide was excellent on Laura Plantation.

So I took the same itinerary last year, with, apparently, a different tour co. I thought this one wasn't quite as good, especially at Oak Alley - and that is obviously NOT a reflection on the tour company but rather on the plantation. The tour guide at Laura Plantation, Rose, was phenomenal. The young woman at Oak Alley spoke ridiculously fast and seemed in a hurry to get the tour over it was listed as 45 minutes, but she was done in 35, and she didn't enunciate all of her words, so at times she was hard to understand I thought it was just me, but 3 out of our group of 4 felt the same.
The bus driver was lovely, full of information about New Orleans as we drove out to the plantations. Last year, though, I had a bus driver who went above and beyond the history he spoke of the difference between gumbo, jambalaya, and étouffée, for example he told us about his own Cajun roots etc. This year's driver was knowledgeable, but she told us a joke about the diff between Creole and Cajun a tablecloth! - funny, but not informative, for example.
