D-Day-Strände der Normandie: Tagesausflug mit amerikanischem Friedhof und optionales Mittagessen

This was a highlight of my trip. The walk through history, and the imagery is incredible. The guide was excellent and the commentary outstanding. The sites visited were a must see for anyone that appreciates the history and the sacrifices made at this time in history. Felt a little rushed at some of the sites, and would've liked to have time to stroll through some of the towns that were destroyed and now are rebuilt during WWII. We zoomed past a lot of things I would have liked to have taken a closer look at. The lunch was excellent, served at the main museum, which had fantastic displays. Lots of short films, which we didn't have time to see all. Totally worth a guided tour to get the stories and images from the time period. December a good time to visit, not too crowded.

It was a full day, we felt rushed but understand we had lots to cover. Transportation was great and Hellen our tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs.

I had been staying in Paris for the last three months and I was trying to put together all my own to visit Normandy, this trip took the hassle out of everything. A delicious lunch was provided and we were able to hit all the marks.

Our guide, Frederich, was superb!!! Very knowledgeable and fun to be with!!! We hit all of the top spots and had a fabulous lunch in a country farmhouse/hotel!!! Would highly recommend this tour with this guide!!!!

We went to Normandy yesterday with Paris City Vision abd enjoyed the long day from Paris! The tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable which made the long bus ride pass quickly the stops at Caen and the beaches also very good only criticism was the lunch very expensive for barely edible food!!! No choice chicken roll was horrible and “salad bar “ with few choices!! I wish we had brought our own food because we were both very hungry after the lunch then stop on the way back at a gas station for sandwiches was a joke so if you go on this tour bring your own food and snacks and you will save yourself some $$$ and enjoy the day!!

We were able to see a lot in just one day. The travel time from Paris went quickly as the tour guides gave interesting narrative during the drive. I might have preferred a quicker bag lunch and more time at the museum rather than an hour for a sit down lunch though. This was definitely worth the time and money to attend and we would recommend it to others.

Bus was one of the most uncomfortable busses ever. Small, tight seats that dug into the butt, I am 5ft 6 and 130 pounds and I was extremely uncomfortable, heavier people were worse off. Tour guide was nice, provided average commentary but nothing special or outstanding.

One of the best tours I have ever done. It's rather emotional to stand on the D Day beaches an imagine what it would have been like in WWII. The American Cemetery is also a must see. Beautiful scenery on the way there. The lunch was excellent. Highly recommended

Our original reservation was for Wednesday August 22. We got up early and waited at 6.15am for a shuttle that never happened. I had paid extra for hotel pickup. When I tried to call the Paris office I continued to get a recording. No person ever answered. At 8am I was in the office of the travel people and explained what happened. They looked in their computer, then made a call. We were never given an explanation of why there was no pickup. We were re-booked on the Normandy D-Day tour the following day.

I recommend this small group tour if you are planning to visit the D-Day beaches and American cemetery. Ian, our guide and driver, was amazing. His obvious love of history was evident in the in depth background on the preparation for and actual invasion of the D-Day campaign. He has small binders with pictures and details about the phases of planning, people involved, equipment, landing conditions, etc. that make the background so much more real. With Ian's commentary, each stop paints a very vivid picture of the events of D-Day, from the bunkers at Pont Hoc where the initial US troops climbed the cliffs to destroy them, to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery on the overlooking rise. This was an inspiring and moving day for me. Being in a small group allows plenty of times for questions and discussion. In addition, we stopped at a delightful place for lunch and were treated to a lovely French meal!
