Loved the Zip line, the guides were very attentive and helpful. We had a lady in our group that was ready to quit after the first zip but one of the guides went tandem on the rest of the zips and by the end she loved it. We felt safe the whole time and the zips were much longer than previous zips we have been on. One of the zips gives you a spectacular view of the ocean so don't forget your gopro if you have one. Our son got to get some pictures with a monkey on his shoulder after the zips which he loved. Also, I recommend the locally made Tropical Banana Soda, Honduras is the only place that I have seen it so definitely worth a try. The drive to the Zips takes about 45 minutes and you get a true appreciation of how mountainous and beautiful the island is. After the Zips the driver took us to West Bay Beach which has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We brought our own snorkel gear so we could of walked about 5 minutes and swam out to the reef but we opted to pay a guide to take us out. We didn't see as many fish as we have seen other places but the coral is plentiful and beautiful. Roatan and this excursion were our most favorite on our cruise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our zip and dip experience in Roatan. The tour was run very well complete with pickup from port. Although, do not take taxi down the hill for a half mile ride (they got us there), the tour groups are just down the hill with signs waiting for you. Our driver Robert was full of info and dropped us off at the zip line entrance then promptly picked us up and took us to Paradise Beach Club for swimming and relaxing. Then returned to get us to port in time. Definitely recommend this excursion. Drive time to zip line was around 20 min. Our kids are 10 and loved every minute of it!

I received directions on where to meet our driver. The instructions were good, but it felt strange to have to hike all the way outside of the port area and past the security gates to grass parking area where the companies that didn't have access to the port pick up and drop off areas. However once outside I quickly found my tour coordinator who gathered our small group ready for our driver. They were quite organized. Once our small group of seven were together our driver took us to his vehicle and we were off to the end of the island. Unfortunately for us, (fortunate for future visitors and the locals) the main road was under reconstruction so it slowed our travel. Our driver was very pleasant and informative. A local who had travelled extensively on a cruise line. We got to the Zip Line pavilion and ahead of us was a large group off somewhere. I think it was the Eco Tour out of the same site. After a quick bathroom break we got together and were assigned two guides for the 5 of us left. (2 went off on the Eco tour) They harnessed us up very carefully and methodically and gave us all helmets to fit. We hiked down to the first platform a short distance away and began our instructions on how to zip line. In no time we were off on our first zip on a short run over some treetops and valley. One of our group was afraid to go but with some gentle coaxing she took her first zip line ride. (It was my first time too, but I threw caution to the wind and let her rip) After the first go it was all just fun after that. The lines go progressively longer and faster and sometimes higher. You gradually worked your way down the hillside with only short walks or steps to the next platform. There were 11 zips in total. Quite fun. When you go to the end you waited on benches for the truck to pick us up and go back to the pavilion at the top of the hill. Our two guides were excellent. They made sure we all had fun and were extremely safe. The whole setup was quite professional and well constructed. They take some good photos on one of the runs that they will sell to you on a thumb drive afterwards for a reasonable price. You can also take a few pictures along the way of your own. Just make sure you have secure pockets for all your gadgets.
After the zip we drove to a resort where we got passes for access to the facilities and the beach. This is an area that was very busy but felt very safe. The beach was clean, the water refreshing. We were dropped off at the port in good time

I would highly recommend this tour. Our 4 guides were fantastic. We felt safe the entire time, and they made the experience very fun for all of us with their upbeat attitudes. We were with a small group of 11 people and got lots of individual attention. The transportation to the zip line area was comfortable and it was easy to find once we got onshore. The time at the beach was also excellent. There were clean bathrooms and changing areas. There was a pool, a beautiful beach and an area to eat if you wished. We walked down the beach and snorkeled as well since we had brought along our snorkel gear. We set a time for the van to come back and get us at the beach and they came right on schedule. We were allowed to talk to the other people on the tour and agree upon a time to be picked up, so we could stay at the beach for as little or as long as we wanted as long as we could agree on a time. It was a great day.

Everyone working with South Shore Zip-lines helped to make our day fun and exciting. I felt safe at all times and had a blast flying through the beautiful forest with the ocean in view. Friendly staff and beautiful location!

Everyone in our groups had a fantastic time. We have small children and some over 60. Most had never zip lined before. Our guide was excellent taking the smallest kids with him and handled the oldest members with respect, even when they were afraid on the first few runs.

I got a great deal on this excursion through viator and we had a blast! It was the best excursion we did while on our cruise. Our group ranged in age from 18-61 and every one of us enjoyed it. The staff there was great and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Great tour. Fun event with helpful and friendly guides. The beach part after zip lining was not that great. We did not have much time and the driver just drops you off at a beach with restaurants and lots of people there. Nothing special or unique. We at at the Argentinian Grill. The food was mediocre and the service was the worst! Not attentive at all and super slow. So slow it left us absolutely NO time to swim. Zip tour was great though.

such a wonderful experience. very easy to find the pick up point. there was a little bit of wait due to the amount of people and we had to take 2 vans. the ac on the vans were a welcome break from the unboreable humidity around the cruise port area. up I the mountains, it was very comfortable and absolutely breathtaking. The staff were amazing with my 7yr old son. An experience of a lifetime. the beach time was just so relaxing. over a year later and I still rave about this excursion. loved it.

TIP: bring OFF bug spray. absolutely needed while waiting for the vans in the grass.

5/24/18 -We can not tell you how much fun we had on this excursion!!! These guys were the best guides a group could ask for! We had 8 in our group and none of us had ziplined before! First - finding them at the meeting place was a breeze. We were given step by step instructions on where to go and what to look for when we came in to port. The driver was very polite, the bus was air conditioned and clean. The trip to the excursion was 30-40 minutes to the top of a mountain. Mahogany Bay is a very beautiful place! We enjoyed the ride through the countryside just taking in the Roatan!! When we got there, the guides gave us our equipment and supplies. First off - these are young guides, but they know their stuff! They were very safety conscious and very thorough. They explained in detail how to zipline safely and were always with us every step of the way! I am afraid of heights, but because of the way the platforms were built very sturdy, large enough for all of us, I felt very safe. Never was afraid - it was like riding a roller coaster. I was trying to video tape the ride on my phone, and one of the guys offered to zip with me so I could hold my camera! He was awesome! My son zipped with another guy upside down! They were so fun and accommodating! As for walking from platform to platform- some are up-hill obviously and steep. We are NOT in great shape - just average almost-50-yr olds! We had NO PROBLEMS! I HIGHLY recommend this excursion to anyone! We had young people and we had a fella older than us who hung right in there with us! After Zipping, we went to a beautiful beach club. It was pretty crowded on the shore, but we were able to find some lounge chairs and chill for about 1.5 hours. We swam in the crystal clear waters and relaxed. The day was PERFECT! A couple of notes - there are bathrooms, lockers 2 - it held all 4 gym bags small, and gift store at the Zipline place - there are changing rooms, food to order, drinks to drink at the Beach club food/drinks are NOT included. We arranged with the driver when to pick us up at the beach park so we had no problem getting back to the dock in time. Also, I emailed them with a question and they were very good about emailing me back. These guys rock!!!
