Wales is the only country in the world with a continuous path around its entire coast. The Wales Coast Path compromises 870 miles of unbroken, often breathtakingly beautiful walking. Smack bang between two of Wales largest cities lies a sumptuous strip of the Wales Coast Path that is both beautiful and refreshingly unspoilt. Sitting next to the Bristol Channel, this impressive stretch of coastline encompasses wildlife rich river estuaries, sandy beaches, limestone cliffs, rock pools and sweeping ocean views. This 7.5 mile walk starts near Ogmore Castle, a 12th century Norman fortification that lies in the pretty Ogmore valley. The walk then proceeds along the wildlife rich Ogmore estuary, home to an array of birdlife including many waders, ducks, birds of prey and even otters. The main stretch of the walk runs parallel to the sea along sandy beaches and clifftop paths where the North Coast of Somerset and Devon will feel within touching distance.
