Cave Tour with a local Native GuideAdrenaline & Extreme

Cave Tour with a local Native Guide

star-5
While vacationing or a short visit by cruise ship on Bonaire, visitors will want to take advantage of the opportunity to discover the island’s cave, consisting of an estimated 400 caves. Since their formation, the caves have played an important role in the island’s overall ecosystem. Some caves are open for guided tours.  Explore ancient formations of stalactites and stalagmites that took thousands of years to form. While adventuring through select caves, continue through the cavern and find a small opening of water where visitors can snorkel. Climb through the opening with your flashlight, mask and snorkel, and snorkel through crystal clear water that is a mix of fresh and salt. It is important that when visiting the cave it should be with a Certified cave guide & operator. You will be visiting 2 of the awesome caves here on the island together with a Native or Local tour guide. We will be picking you up at the port where the ship is or at your hotel or apartment. Transportation from and to your accommodation is cover The caves are located on the North side of the Island. One at the entrance of Santa Barbara and one just down the road at a place called Hill Top we will stop at the second cave. Around this areas is rich in caves. The first Cave we will be visiting have a ladder that you will have to climb down to get into the Cave. When you are in the cave there will be bats and a lot of special rocks. When you are in the cave you will see a lot of type of lime stones as you can see on the pictures and some of the rocks look like they have gliders on them because when you shine your light or flashlight on it they start shining. If you like cliff jumping, we will be visiting a small and low cliff jumping after the cave tour. It is very fun!!!! :) The cliff is not high at all and every one can jump from it :)

Local Native Guided Tour, Rincon VisitBus Tours

Local Native Guided Tour, Rincon Visit

star-4.5
Rincon Village is the oldest village on Bonaire. Additionally, it is the oldest in continual existence within the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. Originally settled by the Spanish in the early 1500’s, Rincon was strategically nestled within a valley to ward off impending danger from pirates and other threats. Slaves were brought to Bonaire and worked tending crops and in the salt pans. Slaves lived in Rincon and walked to the salt pans in the south to work, and stayed there for the work week. They returned to Rincon to gather supplies at Mangazina di Rei (King’s store house), and family visits before heading back to the salt pans. In Rincon we will be visiting the Magazine di Rei (King's store house) and then the Kadushi distillery (where you will be able to taste the local cactus liquor made on Bonaire. After visiting Kadushi we will be stopping at Local Restaurant called Posada. Here will be our last stop and you can enjoy a local food made by local people living on the Island.

Local Native Guided Tour, Indian's TourBus Tours

Local Native Guided Tour, Indian's Tour

Small signposts direct the way to the Indian inscriptions found on a 3-foot limestone ledge that juts out like a partially formed cave entrance. Look up to see the red-stained designs and symbols inscribed on the limestone, said to have been the handiwork of the Arawak Indians when they inhabited the island centuries ago. The pictographs date back at least to the 15th century. Driving near the North East ocean of Bonaire, seeing the splashing waves hitting the cliffs on the coastline with some donkeys walking around until we reach the downtown. We will be also visiting the Boca Onima where you will be able to see a nice inlet of waves entering the shoreline. There you can see the other 12 wind turbines that help produce the electricity of the Island.

Local Native Guide Tour Mangrove/FlamingosNature & Wildlife

Local Native Guide Tour Mangrove/Flamingos

star-5
Mangroves are nature's way of building land mass. On Bonaire, the mangrove area at Lac, for generations, has been the island incubator for the various species of fish that thrive in Bonaire's water. The remnants of the old trees can still be seen. The fisherman recognized the importance of mangroves to the eco-system. They used to ply the canopied waterways in their boats, fishing and harvesting mangrove twigs. They used the long, pliable sticks to make mats, window coverings and other useful items. This was done by slicing the twigs into long pieces and weaving them into the desired items. Now that the mangroves are protected and the old fishermen have passed on, this art has been lost. Today the mangroves are used as a recreation area. Want to learn about Bonaire’s history and culture? Step in our air-conditioned van/ car or pickup with our native tour guide and explore the great scenery and history off the Island.
