Stonehenge was majestic and awe inspiring. The opportunity to walk among the stones gave a greater appreciation of the scale that we very much appreciated.

London to Stonehenge Shuttle Bus and Independent Day Trip
This trip is good if you only have 6 hours for a tour. 2 hours one way travel plus 2 hours Stonehenge walk tour on your own. Bus is clean and organized. It was not so fun for my teenagers but fun for adults like me who likes nature and history.

Stonehenge Independent Visit with Private Driver by Luxury Sedan
Our driver did an excellent job of giving us the history of Stonehenge and some little tidbits about London. He was early to arrive, professional with a very clean car and safe driver. I highly recommend this tour, it's worth it!

Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London
This day trip is a perfect blend of guided tour and plenty of time to be independent and explore (at both Stonehenge and Bath). Richard, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and our driver, Lamar, kept us safe. Bus was clean and comfortable.

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Oxford Day Trip from London
Windsor Castle was great!!! Stonehenge not enough time and Oxford very disappointing as could not go in any of the buildings. Felt very rushed so would probably do an all day tour of Windsor and not book 3 places in one day as needs to be time limited to get it all in.

Inner Circle Access of Stonehenge including Bath and Lacock Day Tour from London
The Roman baths were incredibly interesting and Stonehenge was amazing. Our guide Toby was really fun and had some great facts throughout the whole tour. The only downside was at Lacock where our lunch was ordinary. I understand that it’s the oldest pub in England but lunch at Bath would have worked better. We didn’t get lunch until 4:45pm and when we got to Stonehenge the cafe and gift shop were both shut. Other than that the tour was really good.

Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London with Optional Roman Baths Visit
Chris a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Goes above and beyond. We felt safe with Ashley driving. We would have appreciated more information about the Cotswolds while driving through instead of continued information on Stonehenge.

When to get there

Stonehenge is open year-round, but the most atmospheric time to visit is during the massive summer or winter solstice celebrations when entrance is free. Although visits are timed, the attraction can get crowded in summer, so arrive early or opt for a sunrise or sunset tour to experience the landmark when it's least crowded—and most photogenic.
