Begin your Thai cooking day at BTS Bang Chak station, a Skytrain station located on Sukhumvit Road. Meet a local chef at Exit 5, and walk to a nearby market where Bangkok locals buy fresh herbs, spices, and vegetables. This is the perfect time to learn the names of unfamiliar foods, and to find out how to shop for the key ingredients in your favorite Thai dishes.
At the cooking school, start with the basics: prepare two different Thai curry pastes from scratch using a traditional mortar and pestle. Cook 10 dishes throughout the day, prepping ingredients start to finish. Take a break from cooking by enjoying the lunch and the dinner that you've made, along with ice water, hot tea, or coffee.
After you’ve finished eating the second meal of the day, gather a collection of color-printed recipes, and finish the class at BTS Bang Chak, close to some of Bangkok’s finest shopping, cafes, and upscale neighborhoods.
