Head to the Big Island’s Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation to start your tour. After kicking off your session with a tasting of local Hawaiian coffee and tea at the plantation’s visitor center, you’ll head to the facility’s dry mill to get an insider’s look at the coffee production process. Learn about the various steps like hulling, sizing, grading and color sorting that begins the coffee harvesting process, continuing with a session allowing you to roast your very own batch of fresh, green Kona beans.
Once the roasting process is complete, you’ll have a five-pound (2.2-kilogram) bag of top-notch Kona beans you can take home to share with friends and family (or just keep for yourself!).
