We had a wonderful time in Budapest...but I had to write a review as this tour was such a disappointment and the only thing we didn't enjoy and would not recommend. The people running the tour were not very welcoming and looked like they didn't really want to be there. The tour guide delivering the 'live commentary' spoke very bad English the French was no better - we couldn't understand what she was saying in either language. It was total nonsense. We switched to the recorded commentary in the end - that was marginally better but not very entertaining and the information seemed a little dated. Going into the water was an interesting experience - but you only get 10 mins up the Danube and then turn around again, we thought we would see a lot more of the main sights! Other passengers onboard actually fell asleep during the tour!

The sights we saw in Budapest were good both from land and the Danube however the commentary was unclear at times due to a heavy accent of the tour guide and the ear sets were not very good quality.

I went to the meeting place 15 minutes before 17:00 as suggested by voucher. Several people did not appear by departure time some of them moved in bus during river tour and were warned. We had to wait for long time until departure, which changed my schedule after tour. Tour should be started on schedule without waiting for non-punctual people..
I expected that boat would go to the area near chain bridge. But tour ended at the parliament, which made me disappointed.

After 10 or 15 minutes the bus stopped for about 20 minutes due to road closures because of a visiting diplomatic delegation. The commentary Was switched off and the bus then made a detour. The River segment was shortened and did not cruise past the parliament building. Very disappointing.

The experience of taking a tour by both land and water was unique, and a big fanfare when going down the slipway into the Danube made for a dramatic event. On the negative side, seating was cramped and the aircon was not very effective. The tour itself was nothing special. but the amphibious experience makes it worthwhile.
