Half Day Elephant Experience at Elephant Village Sancturary
, Nov 2019
The sanctuary was great, almost like being in a jungle. We loved feeding, bathing the elephants, and interacting with them, and we especially enjoyed the 4 month old baby. I wish we would have been taught a bit about the elephants, where they came from, and why they were in the sanctuary, etc, but all we learned was their ages. Don't think you will come away educated about elephants. The waterfall was surprisingly lukewarm and if it had been earlier we would have gone swimming; it was beautiful! There is a good deal amount of steep hiking in mud stairs, so be certain you are up for it! The driver was confused about who to pick up and where. He came to pick us up on time but didn't have our names so we sat side by side for about 1/2 hour before we ended up on the phone with the tour company to confirm we were the correct people. It's about 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive to the sanctuary which we were unaware of, and although we were provided a meal, no water was offered to us during this 6 hour tour. Bring water! All in all, we loved the up-close experience with the elephants.
