Meet your guide at your hotel in Cusco prior to a 7:30 a.m. departure (confirm with tour provider upon booking). Drive for approximately an hour until you reach the town of Pisac in the Sacred Valley, stopping to take in panoramic views of the valley along the way.
Once in Pisac, continue your drive up the ruins, which are located almost 10,000 feet (2,950 meters) above sea level. View intricate stonework and agricultural terraces that have withstood the test of time as you learn about Incan culture.
After touring the ruins, return to downtown Pisac and spend roughly an hour of free time shopping at the market and strolling cobbled streets. Rejoin your group to eat lunch at a popular local restaurant that specializes in Andean cuisine, and then continue your drive along the Urubamba River toward the town of Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival, tour the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, a massive stone structure built at the pinnacle of Incan civilization. Climb up the steps to the top of the fortress to gain perspective on the sprawling landscape below.
Return to Cusco and get dropped off at your hotel at roughly 6:30 p.m.
