Begin your day with pickup from your Algarve hotel in time for a 7.00am departure. Cross the border and set out through Spain’s Andalusian region, admiring the scenic countryside views as you wind through the vast plains, passing blooming cotton fields and rugged peaks. Along the way, follow the Route of the Bull in Cádiz, where the bulls used in Spain’s notorious bullfights are raised.
On arrival in Gibraltar, enjoy a guided tour of the tiny island, which measures only 3 miles (4.8 km) in length. Head to viewpoints from which you can gaze out towards Morocco and spot Barbary apes in their natural environment, then learn more about the island’s fascinating history as you explore the Great Siege Tunnels. As you venture underground, hear about the unsuccessful attempt by Spain and France to capture the territory from the British during the American Revolutionary War.
After lunch (own expense), pay a visit to St Michael's Cave, a natural wonder located at 980 feet (300 meters) above sea level, or join a tour to the Rock of Gibraltar (extra cost). Enjoy free time for shopping and sightseeing independently before setting out on the return journey.
On return to Portugal, your tour ends with drop-off at your Algarve hotel.
