Meet in central Girona, and walk with your guide to Església de Sant Martí Sacosta, a church near the Pujada de Sant Domenech, home to the famous Girona staircase. As you explore, you’ll hear about the filming of Game of Thrones, and key season six scenes that were filmed in the city. It’s a Viator Exclusive experience that’s available nowhere else.

With tales of Ayra Stark and Jon Snow ringing in your ears, you’ll follow your guide around the wending alleyways of the Jewish Quarter. Admire the medieval architecture as you wander along the streets of Claveria and Sant Llorenc — settings that featured as Braavos in the HBO hit series.

Pass the Cathedral of Santa Maria to explore the neighborhood around the German Headquarters, a barracks-style fortification where GoT battle scenes were shot. Stop for photos, and then get up close to the cathedral to admire at its baroque façade.

Continue to Carrer Ferran el Catolic, an age-old Arabian bathing complex, which once formed part of a convent. Make your way around the small plaza of Plaça dels Jurats to admire the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligans, a Romanesque Benedictine structure that’s known for its cloisters. Finally, finish with a visit to the Church of Sant Feliu and bid your guide goodbye.

We had a private tour, because we were the only ones. It was a very interesting tour with a lot of information about Game of Thrones locations, but also the history of Girona.

We did this tour with Carme Adamuz. She obviously loved the town of Girona and it showed in the passionate way she spoke about its history and growth. Her insights about the town added to the fun filled walk. What was nice was that she didn't restrict herself to Game of Thrones but took us through the history of the town.

tour guide was fantastic and we absolutely would recommend this tour to anyone. My boys had seen the series but I hadn't and it didn't matter - great walking tour which covered all the areas I wanted to see in Girona!!

We experienced an excellent walking tour with Susanna. She had great knowledge of the history of Girona and the architecture. She told us personal stories about the Spanish Civil War. She had an iPad to show us the scenes from Game of Thrones while we were in spots where it was film. She is a delightful guide and it was thoroughly enjoyable

Marc did an excellent job as our tour guide and went the extra mile to tell us about the history of Girona and surrounding areas. He was very knowledgeable about the Game of Thrones connection with Girona, the areas they filmed, and the experience we had during the tour was nothing but phenomenal. I would highly recommend this tour and it was one of the main highlights of our trip to Barcelona for sure. I would highly recommend the drive to Girona to experience everything this place has to offer and again, many thanks to Marc our tour guide for an absolutely fantastic experience.

An excellent experience! We learnt a lot of interesting details, not only about Game of Thrones filming, but also about Girona history. We met beautiful places which wouldn't have been so easy to find on our own. We had the chance to take the tour in Spanish. We could stop to take many photos. The pictures in the tablet which we later received via email helped a lot. The tour guide Marc was very friendly and made the tour a great excperience. Highly recommended!

This was a favorite part of our trip! Customer service worked with us in handling a scheduling conflict so that no one was inconvenienced which I thank them for. Our guide, Mark, was phenomenal and went out of his way to give us the history of his beautiful city and all the extras regarding the Game of Thrones filming. This is my second Viator tour other one was Toledo/Segovia and will definitely book with this company again.

My husband and I stopped in Girona on our honeymoon and were so excited to check out the Game of Thrones tour. Our guide, Susanne, was wonderful and showed us a number of shooting locations as well as some historical locations in the old part of the city. Highly recommended!!
