Meet local artists and craftsmen on a full-day tour of the villages near Hue by dragon boat and bicycle. Learn to make paper lotus blossoms, ride through traditional communities, visit flower gardens, and soak up the rural atmosphere of the Vietnamese countryside, with round-trip hotel transfer, lunch, and all activities included.
Begin with pickup at your hotel in Hue and drive to Toa Kham Wharf, where you’ll board a traditional dragon boat down the Perfume River. Join a colorful cluster of fishing boats on the river as you travel to Sinh village, and enjoy views of Hue landmarks as you go: you’ll see Hen Island, the Bai Dau market, the and the villages of Bao Vinh and Than Tien.
Upon arrival at Sinh village, walk to the home of local artist Ky Huu Phuoc, who’s known for his traditional paintings. See a demonstration of his work, then keep exploring the village on bicycle, pedaling out of town towards Thanh Tien, where you’ll meet a second artist, Than Van Huy. Visit a gallery that specializes in handmade paper flowers, and practice making a lotus with help from a local craftsman.
Continue to the town's Communist party monument then return to the dragon boat for lunch on the river as you float towards Tien Non village. Stop by a flower and vegetable garden to learn about local growing techniques, before finishing the day with a return trip to Hue by dragon boat. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
