Try your hand at sushi-making during a 2.5-hour course, limited to just eight participants, in Osaka. Learn from a professional instructor as you learn to master this uniquely Japanese art, then sit down to dinner, as you taste your handiwork with the other guests.
Start your sushi-making course at Nishikujo train station in the afternoon, where you’ll meet your professional instructor and licensed chef. Walk with your instructor to a nearby home to start your course. For those interested in the full-immersion sushi experience, upgrade to the yukuta option to wear an authentic Japanese kimono during your class.
Follow along as your instructor demonstrates the preparations for making sushi rice, as well as rolling techniques to place sashimi (thin-sliced fish) and other ingredients inside the dried seaweed rolling paper, called nori. Take your turn, allowing yourself a few tries to get the hang of things, as you select ingredients offered by the chef.
Have a seat to enjoy your rolls with the other guests. Your meal is accompanied by miso soup, a Japanese omelet and a selection of snacks. If you’d like, upgrade to include a local sake and Osaka-brewed beer tasting to wash it all down. The tasting includes either six sakes or four sakes and one bottle of beer.
After dinner, test your hand at making taiyaki (a fish-shaped cake) for dessert. Once you’ve gotten sufficiently full, head back to Nishikuji train station to finish your excursion.

Lovely time spent with a lovely lady and her dog! It was just me in the class which was great to have 1 on 1 and the dishes were great! Loved making the egg roll and sushi. Would recommend to many but depends what kind of sushi you want to learn. This is a very simple class and you make basic things

This was definitely a highlight of our 2 week trip to Japan. It exceeded my expectations, and I am so glad we did this. I 100 recommend this sushi-making class! Yayo met us at the train station and walked us to her apartment. We had a lovely tea, and then proceeded to making a Japanese omelet, Yayo showed us how to make miso, and then we made our sushi. Beautiful, fun experience -- take this class, you will not regret it!!

This was one of the highlights of our time in Japan. Yayo is an extremely nice person who truly opens up her home to you for this experience. Learning how to make sushi, miso soup, and the Japanese omelet were not only very informative but extremely fun to do. Yayo is also a very generous person whose personality and made this experience very personal and outstanding. I would totally recommend this event, it is extremely worth it!

Booked this activity as a surprise for my wife and we had a fantastic time. Yayo was the perfect host and teacher, and Akane was an excellent Guest Service Manager -
Would highly recommend this class to anybody, whether you are looking for a serious cooking class or a light hearted cooking activity with a professional and warm hearted teacher.
