Savor the music, movement and flavors of Hawaii all in one memorable evening. Make your way to a private, family-run tropical garden near the mouth of the Wailua River in the early evening. Wander among lagoons and native flowers and plants as you explore the lush setting before dinner.
Your feast begins with a traditional imu ceremony, in which a roast pig is removed from an underground clay oven. Toast your Kauai vacation with your choice of complimentary beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages or tropical cocktails from the bar.
Just after sunset, head to a torch-lit amphitheater and take your seat for an elaborate luau show. Get into the island spirit as local performers present song and dance numbers inspired by the diverse cultures that have inhabited Hawaii over the years. Enjoy vibrant costumes and traditional music from places across the Pacific, including Samoa, New Zealand, the Philippines, Japan, Tahiti, China and, of course, Hawaii.
At the end of the show, head back out into the warm island night with your appetite sated and visions of island paradise lingering in your mind.
We had a party of 7, ages 6-50 y/o and they all loved the diverse food and the show. Beautiful grounds with plenty of time to roam and explore- we never felt rushed. The wonderful Smith Family was friendly and very helpful through-out the evening and you felt like part of a big family dinner.
From the time we arrived we were mad to feel welcome. The Smith family really seems to enjoy what they do. The explanation of the culture at the gathering around the imu was very informative. The diner is great. Large selection of food and it is good. A trio of Smith's played Hawaiian music during dinner. Then after dinner there was a show that lasted about an hour and then minutes. Fantastic.
Smiths Luau was beautiful! We took a cab there from the cruise port and it was $32. An Uber/Lyft back was only $18. The food was excellent and the entertainment was perfect. A lot of people on the ship did the Cruise luau and said the food was terrible. Smiths includes all you can drink as well during the dinner. I would highly recommend this place
This luau was really good. We got picked up by a tour wagon and went through the garden to get to the area of the luau. They dropped us off in the area where we would eat. Before we got to that area, we walked to watch them dig up the pig that was cooking in the ground with other foods. The buffet was plenty and very organized. They even told us to go back for seconds and thirds. They had entertainment on a stage right by our table while we ate. They also had audience participation. After the great meal, we walked a path to where the luau was taking place. It was an area that was covered in case of rain. It did rain but the rain let up for the show. They also supplied big umbrellas and shell lei's for us to wear. There were so many acts of music of all kinds of the Hawaii culture. So colorful and very exciting. They were on a stage that looked like it was floating on the water....the reflections of it all was in the water to make it more beautiful. 3 others went with us to hawaii but didn't get to book this Luau cause it was sold out. They went to other luaus and we compared notes and I showed them clips of all the acts I saw and dances and stories. They were so impressed and said next time they were going to go to the Smith Family one cause theirs never even came close to ours in entertainment. After hearing about their luau's and knowing what I saw, I will go to the Smith family luau again. We also met a few of the Smith family and they were so down to earth and a joy to talk with.
This place was very organized! After showing our voucher and getting tickets, we were directed to the trams tour which took us around the beautiful grounds and gardens. We had about 30 min. to explore and then saw the cooked pig removed from underground. Food delicious!
