While in Rome and Florence I used Viator fir several tours. This was one of them and they have all been excellent. My children are ages 15, 12, 10. Colosseum tour with Alessandra was great! The pizza/gelato tour with Marco is exceptional. He’s amazing! Food tour with Matteo was unbelievable and Sistine Chaoel tour with Simone was also great!!So far while in Florence we have had. Cooking class that was great! And 3 hour tour this morning at davinci museum and David. Her name was Rose and she was exceptional!!Viator has been providing us with great experiences and we are so happy we took a chance with them. Heading to Venice and Paris next week. I’ll update my review after tours we have planned there.

Engaging, fun and interesting tour for the whole family! Our teenagers enjoy the visit very much. Simona, our guide, did a great job!

We though this would be a great tour to involve the whole family there were 6 of us including my 10 year old nephew and 15 year old niece. We meet Maria our tour guide outside the Vatican museum. There was one other family. We were not disappointed. Maria was fantastic, so engaging and very informative. She got us all involved and the children thought she was great. They loved playing the game and got so much out of it. They were talking about it for days afterwards. Skip the line tours are a must if you have limited time and if you have children I highly recommend this tour. Thank you so much Maria.

Highly recommended for families with kids, very interactive. Our tour guide Maria was just amazing!

Our guide was very nice, but the tour was a little all over the place. We needed more background for the kids (we are not catholic) for them to understand the history of the Vatican and the pope.

Even though we went in the winter and supposedly the crowds were manageable, there was still a lot of people and at times difficult to hear our guide. It was informative for me as an adult, but the info on the history and background of the paintings were lost on the kids. I wished that she covered a bit more about the Vatican itself and brought us to see more of it rather than the Carriage Pavilion, which was nice but didn't warrant a whole side tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Maria. My family were joined by one other family and Maria took us to some of the quieter areas of the museums to tell us all about sculptures, art work, history the children learnt a lot, and so did I! Maria made the tour really engaging for the children including an ongoing competition between kids and adults which the children really loved especially since they earned little prizes as well as points.

The idea of this tour is to keep to some of the quieter areas because the crowds can be overwhelming and I thought it worked really well. Just because they were quieter areas didn't mean we missed out, in fact it was a great to have insider knowledge of where to go. We visited the most breathtaking New Wing and Chiaramonti museums, housing amazing sculptures including many Gods which my childre loved, they are really into Percy Jackson at the moment After that we headed to the Pinacoteca Vaticana which houses some great masterpieces including Raphaels Transformation, an unfinished Da Vinci, Caravaggio Entombment of Christ. This is often missed by the masses so it was very comfortable and quiet so Maria was able to tell the children all about the art in relative peace. They sat transfixed as she told animated stories about Michaelangelo and the paintings in the Sistine Chapel. Maria used an iPad with pictures to help show them what to expect in the Sistine Chapel and the stories behind some of the pictures, she was so good at making everything really interesting for the children and me asking them questions, patiently listening to them - she had them transfixed. Someone actually came up to me having watched Maria in action and said how wonderful it was to see children so fascinated. We also went to see all the different Pope mobiles, which the children also loved. At the end of the tour Maria gave us maps and directions on how to get to the Sistine Chapel and then the quick way to get straight to St Peters Basilica. this was soooo helpful

The walk to the Sistine Chapel takes you through a lot of the rest of the museum so you still see a great deal more in your own time. When we got to the Sistine Chapel the children loved searching for the different people in the paintings that Maria had told them about, it was all so much more relevant to them having some background information as to what they were looking at. We used Marias helpful directions straight to St Peters Basilica and St Peters Square also amazing!

This was a great tour, the kids loved Maria and gave her big hugs to say goodbye. We returned to the Vatican a couple of days later with my husband who had missed the tour due to illness. The children loved showing him around and teaching him everything they had learned it was lovely to listen to them and see how much they had actually learned and remembered. Top marks!

We had an incredible small group tour of the Vatican City purposely tailored for kids and their families! Maria was a great guide and she kept children entertained for more than 2 hours. There was just another family in our group, so it was perfect. We visited sections of the museum not crowded at all, as the gallery of paintings, the gallery of the popes' carriages and cars we really wanted to see the Popemobiles!, and an amazing archaeological section. It was possible to play games and treasure hunts and we all had a lot of fun and learn so much. Thanks!
