Your Segway tour begins by meeting your expert local guide at a convenient location in central Lisbon. First, get acquainted with your new ride. Segways are simple to learn and are operable on virtually any pedestrian terrain, making it an ideal way to explore a lot of ground without getting exhausted. Additionally, you’ll be able to reach areas that many walking and bus tours cannot. Listen up at the brief safety orientation, take it for a test spin, and be on your way. Follow your friendly guide to some of Lisbon’s most magnificent monuments. Wheel your way to Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest and most charming neighborhoods. Here, learn about the area’s history while rolling down its narrows cobblestone alleys and meeting local shopkeepers. Glide on over to the stunning Sé de Lisboa Cathedral, one of the most visited landmarks in Lisbon. Listen closely as your guide gives you a crash course in Portuguese architecture, pointing out the mix of different influences, like Gothic and Baroque styles. You won’t want to miss what’s next—the medieval Castelo de São Jorge. Put your Segway into high gear to zoom up the hill upon which this stunning work of architecture is perched. From here, snap a few photos of the spectacular view that stretches all the way to the Tagus River. Then, get to know Lisbon’s local characters when you meet local shop owners in town. Finally, try a sampling of local Portuguese cuisine, such as pastries, ice cream, and ginjinha (a local liqueur). Ask your guide any remaining questions you may have, as you make your way back to the meeting point, where your Segway tour of Lisbon ends.
Highlight of our trip and would do it again! Mario and Jessica are wonderful!
, Jun 2019
This was our very first Segway Tour and we absolutely loved it! Our family of 4 had never been on a segway before but our tour guides, Mario and Jessica were very patient and helpful in assisting us with learning to ride. We were able to practice in the Square prior to being led into the streets of Lisbon. It was a bit challenging but exciting to ride the uphill, downhill and narrow streets. Mario and Jessica remained attentive to our group throughout the tour to ensure our safety and comfort level. Mario is extremely knowledgeable and provided very detailed information throughout various historical sites and we enjoyed our food stop to experience some of the local favorite wine, cheeses and tapas. He provided great tips on local restaurants and other places to visit while in Lisbon. Jessica also had a great personality and held great conversations with me re: our trip itinerary, where we are from, etc.
This was definitely the highlight of our tour in Portugal and look forward to doing this again someday. Thank you Mario and Jessica for making this experience such a memorable one for our family!
4 ladies did the tour with Maria our guide and had a fantastic time. Great way to see the city and Sample some delicious local food at the same time. Segway riding is simple once you work out how to balance. Plenty of time to practice before we set off and we never looked back even on the really steep inclines and declines. Great day, great guide and great company
I've taken a lot of tours in a lot of different countries and this was by far the best tour I have taken. Boris is a fantastic tour guide who really knows his stuff about the city and makes fantastic recommendations on restaurants, local cuisine, and liquors that you need to try. I would 100 recommend taking his tour if you get the chance.
Miguel was a great tour guide who shared with us many insights about Lisbon that we would otherwise have never discovered. The Segways were also great and so much fun. It was a great way to learn about the city! Would highly recommend both Miguel and this tour!!!
dangerous undertaking. very congested center city area with narrow streets and many people, trucks, cars etc. high chance for injury. i had one where a woman walking on the sidewalk slipped off curb into me causing fall, head injury and day in hospital. this tour needs radical changes to reduce potential for accident and serious outcomes..
