The Bavarian countryside is well known for its greenery, rolling hills, and storybook-like beauty. Experience the breadth of its splendor with a 1-day electric bike trip from Lenggries to Murnau, including pickup and drop-off from Munich. Along this summertime 40-mile (64-kilometer) trek, stop at Walchensee for a picnic lunch of local favorites.
Get ready for an early morning meetup at the BOB (Bayerische Oberland-Bahn) train station in Lenggries. The train station is easy to reach from downtown Munich by train in 1-hour (train station Hackerbrücke, next to the Munich Central Station).
Once you reach Lenggries, go with your group to pick out an eBike and helmet that fits you. Then, it’s time to hit the biking path for a physically and technically challenging route. Ride along, take in the beautiful Bavarian landscape of Jachenau, and stop when you reach Walchensee for a picnic lunch of German favorites. This must-see Alpine lake is one of the largest and deepest in all of Germany.
After lunch, hop back on your eBike to get to the Murnauer Moos, a nature reserve with picturesque views of the Wetterstein mountains. See regional wildlife up close in this area.
Keep riding a short distance from the reserve to Murnau, home of the famous Munter House, where artists Gabriele Munter and Wassilly Kandinsky spent much of their time.
Following the end of your eBike tour, jump back into the minivan for the relaxing ride back to your hotel.
