Start your day with hotel or airport pickup in the morning, then travel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle around the city.
Stop at one of India's largest mosques, Jama Masjid, which can hold as many as 25,000 people. Then pass the Red Fort as you continue to Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi at his cremation site. Next up, visit the Lotus Temple, a place of worship for the Bahai faith. The main building was constructed in 1986 in the shape of a lotus flower, and the grounds contain acres of lovely gardens.
Have lunch at a nearby restaurant, then head into New Delhi to see the minaret Qutub Minar, a World Heritage Site that dates to the 11th century. Continue to India Gate, an arch that stands 138 feet (42 meters) tall and commemorates more than 70,000 Indian soldiers who perished while fighting in the British Army. Keep driving to see stately government buildings that were built during the time of the British Raj, including the President’s House and Parliament House.
In the early evening, visit a market where can browse vendors of textiles, jewelry, shoes, handicrafts, and other goods, then have the option to ride by rickshaw through the Chandni Chowk shopping bazaar.
Your tour ends with hotel or airport drop-off in the evening.
